Enjoy the darker side of Memphis and hear tales of the city's haunted heritage as told by professional storytellers. The city’s South Main Historic District – an eclectic, colorful area with some of the city’s oldest buildings – has a long history of sensational murders and ghostly activity. On this 90-minute outdoor walking tour, you'll visit a number of haunted sites, including:
• The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921
• The John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by star-crossed lovers
• The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. We'll take you inside this creepy establishment (Wednesday-Sunday ONLY), home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.

This is such a great tour to get familiar with downtown Memphis, specifically the South Main neighborhood. Good mix of spooky stories and history! Daniel was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the city! I've recommended this tour many times and will continue to do so.

Daniel was very professional and offered a wealth of knowledge. Although we didn't see any ghosts, we definitely were able to gain history of Memphis with a little humor sprinkled in. I would recommend Daniel and his crew to anyone visiting Memphis.

Daniel is an exceptional guide. He was born in Memphis and his family has been here for generations. While he shares some fantastic ghost tales around many downtown infamous sites, he also provides some very thoughtful insights of Memphis which that endured war, disease, depression and the plight of civil rights with alacrity and dignity. This town has many layers and Daniel has shown us how special this town can be when you look very carefully. This tour is an invitation to discover more about Memphis from someone who deeply loves the rich traditions and its history.

It’s my tradition to do ghost tours when I visit new places, and this one did not disappoint. Daniel was an enthusiastic and spirited (Dad-joke intended) guide who showed love for, and knowledge about, not just the ghost stories, but for Memphis in general. His passion for his city was clear and enthusiastic. He led us to theaters, taverns, hotels, houses, and other haunted spots and shared detailed snapshots of the haunted (and regular) histories and their cast of characters of friendly, lost, lovelorn, and insidious spirits. It was a lengthy tour and he never rushed it, so I definitely feel I got my money’s worth and got to soak everything in rather than feel hurried to the end. If you like quirky and unusual things to do on your vacation, I highly recommend Daniel’s ghost tour!
