What To Expect
Hegra
Soaring high over centuries of history carved in canyons passing by. The golden sandstone formations will leave you feeling like a true explorer as you learn about the living museum that is AlUla from your pilot. the wonder will start setting in as your eyes adjust to the majestic geography that forms a backdrop for the sun to rise over. As you float over canyons and tombs, you will learn about AlUla's rich history and why it has been such a well-kept secret.

5.00Such an amazing experience, breathtaking views of Al-Ula landscapes, conditions were perfect, thanks captain Arturas and Hossam for making the ride so easy and so nice First we had a car ride to the appointment location, then we were given a few dates and some hot drinks to feel better cause it is really cold early in the morning, I suggest to wear some warm clothing. Then Captain Arturas taught us what to do while in the balloon, they prepared the balloons, and we were ready to fly for the sunrise which was beautiful The landing was flawless, thanks captain Arturas again for making this experience such a pleasant one I highly recommend doing this while you’re in Alula

5.00We had an amazing trip with Hero Balloon Flights. We were collected by our driver, Tim, who was polite and chatty during the roughly 40min drive out to the take off point. We were put into groups and taken through a safety briefing for the flight: it was great to see that the team took safety seriously. The flight itself was a great experience. Different to other hot air balloon trips we have done, this was all about enjoying the panoramic views of the desert and the Hegra tombs. The flight lasted about an hour and our pilot was also nice and friendly, happy to answer all the questions we had. Landing was considerably smoother than expected! It is testament to the caliber of pilots that Hero hire that none of the balloons that I saw land tipped over. Cost is in line with ballooning in other parts of the world. And given that Hero is the only company currently flying, it didn't feel too crammed/overcrowded at any point. I'd highly recommend Hero Balloon Flights to anyone visting Al Ula!

5.00The best experience of my life, it was so smooth and excellent , I thought it would be scary however it wasn’t at all and felt safe the whole trip. The staff was amazing. Our guide Ahmed was very helpful and nice he explained everything efficiently and carl also, he is a great guid, and of course out amazing captain captain Arturus his skills are amazing and the landing was perfect. He was entertaining the whole trip

5.00Don't miss this trip! It's perfectly organized ... pickup at the lodge, coffee before, a drink after the flight, and a nice water bottle as memory gift. The flight is spectacular, it gives you a fantastic impression of the landscape, the desert and the rocks, and how green it actually is. We saw the Hegra tomb from the bird's perspective ... super. The pilot tells you what you see and answers all your questions. It was a great experience. We now wish we could fly back to our home country Malawi in a hot air balloon!
