You are at our home in the countryside,in the true and authentic atmosphere of the Salento countryside. Here the spontaneous plants become cocktails that look like "magic potions", in a perfect alchemy between the world of nature and the world of the bar and mixology.
You will understand how mixology can become "wild" and how plants can be harvested, dried and transformed into infusions, flavored syrups and liqueurs, to be drunk alone or mixed.
You may find yourself behind a table preparing your own wild cocktail, guided by Elia's art!

What To Expect
We are Elia and Betty, we live in Lequile, a small town near Lecce, in the countryhouse of our great-grandfather Giuseppe Calò and here we have created our treasure of herbs and liquid ingredients. We start with a walk in the countryside, to discover spontaneous plants and more, which we use for the preparation of our liquid ingredients (infusions, syrups, liqueurs, bitters, cocktails). Among stories, anecdotes and ancient uses of plants, guests will take a dip in the fascinating world of "wild foraging", to experience the typical day of the "wild forager" and maybe pick some herbs. After the walk, in a very special place, we will guide you in tasting wild liqueurs and you will learn how to prepare a "wild cocktail".

5.00One of the most heartwarming, fun and friendliest couple I know on this planet. What Betty and Elia do, I’ve never experienced somewhere else. How and where they pick plants and seeds in order to turn it into a drink, from plant to glass, is unique. The knowledge they have of plants is very impressive, and they are more than happy to share everything they know. So if you’re looking for a unique experience, either in drinks, activities or in people, look no further. This is the place to be!

5.00I highly recommend being transported by Elia and Betty into the magical world of foraging, discovering the fantastic herbs that our territory offers us: PUGLIA! All this is completed with a beautiful tasting of the result of their daily work in creating Vermouth and cocktails. P.s. you will also train your abdominal muscles by laughing because of Elia. 😂♥️

5.00Our visit to Elia and Betty's house was truly extraordinary. After a tour of their garden where they will tell you all about Salento plants and what can be done with them, as well as very interesting anecdotes (did you know that the Vermouth takes its name from "Wermut kraut" which is none other than absinthe?), the visit continues in the "bar Mita" of the barn where you can enjoy delicious cocktails based on their alcohols distilled with the plants of the region. Local products, artisanal, tasty, tasted in good company and quiet. A real luxury!

In the setting of the old family farm, Elia and Betty have created the Bar Mita with ingenious creativity, a bit speakeasy and a bit alchemical laboratory, where you can taste extraordinary cocktails made with the wild herbs of the garden while transforming the essences of the Mediterranean scrub into herbal teas, liqueurs, ointments and tinctures with a medieval flavor. 5.00Every time I go back to Lecce one of the stops that can not miss is passing by my friends at the bar Mita. Taking a walk in their garden / vegetable garden, discovering new flavors and smells every time under the guidance of two professionals like Elia and Betty is very interesting and stimulates curiosity through all the senses. The Mita campaign is fascinating and Elia is a great guide and nice speaker; together with Betty, who is a professional and connoisseur at excellent levels, they have studied, in my opinion, a winning format. At the end of the experience you can enjoy an excellent cocktail prepared by Elijah, who uses his preparations with wild herbs collected during their excursions. Experience highly recommended. Full speed ahead, guys!!
