After pickup from your Manila or Makati hotel in the morning, your guide will take you on a scenic 1-hour drive through the countryside to Hidden Valley Springs Resort in the town of Alaminos, located in the province of Laguna.
Hidden Valley Springs
Situated between two mystical mountains, Mt Makiling and Mt Banahaw, the landscape here encompasses a 110-acre-wide (45-hectare) and 300-foot-deep (91-meter) crater believed to have been formed by a violent volcanic upheaval thousands of years ago. As you explore the area on foot with your guide, admire the lush vegetation, which boasts an impressive collection of rare orchids and more than 153 species of plant life, most of which are endangered and indigenous to the forest. Reach the resort's hot springs, where you’ll find several heated volcanic pools. Take a dip in these natural healing waters and unwind as you listen to the sounds of swaying palms and ferns and cascading waters from the mountainside. At midday, you’ll be served a buffet lunch of traditional Filipino specialties. After your meal, you may take another soak to the hot springs if you wish.

I booked for a Friday in July where I turned out to be the only person on the trip, and fortunately there were very few people there already. They have a nice new locker and shower room and a rustic yet clean dining area with a buffet and freshly-baked and tasty sticky rice delicacies. I got to pick when I could have lunch, assigned between 11:30 and 1:30. I really enjoyed the pools, particularly the more secluded "lover's pool", and the forest ambience helps me relax. If you're going to the falls at the very end of the trail make sure to have the attendant accompany you as the area around there can be very slippery. Keep in mind that 5:30pm on the listing is the time you're expected to get back, not the time you leave the resort. So you have until about 2pm there given Manila's infamous traffic. I hope to go back soon and hopefully find another quiet time to book for.

If you want a nice relaxing day to chill away from the city, then I do recommend booking this activity. I was quite lucky as the place wasn’t so crowded. I recommend seeing the waterfall first. It is quite a small one, but still lovely. It’s about a 20 minutes walk which can be quite calming and there was a gentleman there who helped me through the water and took fantastic pictures of me. There are three pools: the big warm pool, the “soda” pool, and the lovers’ pool which is tucked away in the corner. They provided me with lockers at no extra cost. You make your way back to Manila after lunch so make sure you do as much swimming as possible beforehand. Lunch is buffet food (with soft drinks costing extra) and although I am not a huge fan of buffet food, it was nice nonetheless. Throughout the drive, my tour guide was informing me about the sights on the road i.e. the buildings, the motorway, the mountain etc., which was nice. The only negative feeling I had (at the very end of the tour) was the tour guide telling me I should tip the driver. Although I do not come from a “tipping culture” country, I do not mind doing it when someone has done a great job. That said, I didn’t have much cash on me (as everything was booked and I didn’t want to carry much cash on me) so I just pulled out the first note which was PHP 50. The tour guide complained that it was too small. I still ended up giving it to the driver, but it left a sour taste in my mouth (and it’s not like this is a cheap activity to book). Overall, this is a nice activity to book if you want a break from the city.

If you are nature lover this is the perfect place for you for a day. Hot spring from the mountains so the water so nice when you get to the swimming pool , they have a big lockers for your things and a a big food hall with a buffet style with mainly Filipino foods. They serve lunch at 11:30am to 1:30 pm snack At 3pm to 5pm . Try the local black coffee with brown sugar and taste so good. They have tourist Police that you can see around to help and protect you from any situation. Price is general and it’s worth because of the huge location and so many different kinds of trees and beautiful flowers. This place is highly recommend because of their beautiful place and best for team building, family, couples and with kids

We did the Tagaytay tour the day before and enjoyed it so much that we went and booked this for the next day for quiet time. It was just us and two others on the van, and we all went separate ways once we arrived at the venue. All it was was a ride there and back, lunch and tickets booked and snack stops so in terms of value for money it might have been a bit steep locally, but okay coming from Australia, as Manila is so hectic we just couldn't be bothered organizing it all and just needed to relax. We already knew that the pick up is punctual and reliable a d the tour guides took pride in working for the best tour company. There were only 2 others on our van, and when we got there we went separate ways to do whatever until 3pm. We walked to the waterfalls first, had lunch then went swimming all afternoon. The lunch was okay, we got serenaded at one point which was cute and not as awkward as we feared. Pools were just fantastic, the temperatures were perfect, not cold at all on the way in or out and so clean. We had every pool to ourselves at some point, it was just starting to get a little busier as we were leaving, as the overnighters showed up. It was so nice to wind down only 2 hours away from ridiculously populated Manila.

Stressed from the city and in search for a relaxing day only few hours driving for Manila, the Hidden Valley Springs Resort is definitely what you should looking for. The hot pools are amazing and also the “soda” pools, top if the line premises with lockers to store your valuables while enjoying the bath (500P deposit which will be returned once you’ll give back the key). Highly recommended also the 20/30 minutes walk to the hidden fall, very enjoyable and easy walk with superbe landscape. Food is great and personnel speaks fluently English and Korean. A highly recommended excursiob

For a day trip, it may not be entirely worth it. Its a fairly long bus trip to a resort that is mostly just a two sets of cascading pools that vary in temperature from luke warm to cool. The food is bland and the place can be quite crowded, which really detracts from the experience. Overall, there are probably better ways to see nature or to sit in hot pools. This trip does neither all that well.

We loved our tour to Hidden Valley Springs with our favorite guides Omar and Oswald. The springs were very beautiful and there was a waterfall we hiked to. Would love to go back someday.
