On our Highland Lochs, Glens & Castles tour from Edinburgh we will take you to some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. Majestic mountains tumble down to shimmering lochs and castles, while glens tell tragic tales of centuries gone by.
You will have the opportunity to visit a castle or two and we’ll also have the chance to get some photos of castle ruins. We visit the picturesque highland village of Luss which sits on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond with views to Ben Lomond, Scotland’s most southerly Munro.

Our full-day tour of the Scotland Highlands was absolutely incredible! The landscapes were breathtaking, and every stop along the way felt like something out of a postcard. From dramatic mountains to beautiful lochs, the scenery alone made the experience unforgettable. What really made the tour special, though, were our guides, Kyle and Brian. Both of them shared their own personal stories about the region, including memories from their childhoods, which added such a unique and authentic touch to the tour. It felt less like a scripted tour and more like exploring the Highlands with locals who truly love where they live. The banter between Kyle and Brian kept everyone laughing and made the 9-hour tour fly by. It never once felt long or tiring because they kept the energy fun and engaging the entire time. Kyle also did a fantastic job making sure everyone was comfortable on the bus. He regularly checked in to make sure the temperature was just right so the bus was never too hot or too cold. Brian’s knowledge of Scottish history was impressive. As we passed different landmarks, he shared fascinating stories and context about the places around us, which made the scenery even more meaningful and interesting. Another highlight was the size of the tour. With a smaller group of about 12–16 people, it felt very personal. The guides actually took the time to get to know everyone, greeted us by name, and had real conversations throughout the day. It created a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They also recommended a fantastic lunch spot during one of our stops, and we never felt rushed at any point during the day. The pacing of the tour was perfect. Overall, this was an amazing experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Scotland. The guides truly made the trip memorable. 5/5 stars for both the guides and the tour!

This is the tour to do. It leaves at 830 am and gets back at 630. It’s about 3 hours less than most tours, but that’s a good thing. Stevie the driver is amazing and true Scotish. Incredibly nice. The bus seats 15-20, so it’s the right size for all the curvy roads. Other tours are 50-60 on very large buses and we had some close calls. Stevie gives you ample time at the big spots and time for lunch. It wasn’t rushed, which we experienced on another tour. This was just right and we enjoyed our day more compared to another tour we took with Hairy Coo. Also, the other tours use Harry Potter to lure you in, but they don’t tell you the train is closed most of the year. Little Harry Potter in Edinborough. Don’t be tricked. This tour gives you a chance to see the Lochs and explore a castle. Perfect.

I recommend x1000. By far our most interesting excursion! We see a lot of castles / palaces. Some from afar and others that can be visited. The time of year can vary the visit of some castles. Our guide, Finn, was amazing. He gives a lot of historical facts, puts Scottish music on the rides and is very friendly. His English was simple to understand. Lots of stops, so the excursion passed quickly. We loved it!

Stevie was an absolutely amazing tour guide. He mixed in historical facts with humor and collaborative activities throughout. The pacing of the day was perfect by giving enough time for all the locations. It was a very relaxing day.

This was an amazing experience. Flynn had an abundance of knowledge throughout the whole trip and kept it lively until the end of the day. It felt like a road trip with a university graduate of Scotland and he made it entertaining with good vibes throughout. Beautiful stops. So happy we booked this tour!
