5.00Garen was an outstanding tour guide for our limited time in Taipei. Her passion about history and culture made our tour fun and educational. It was only my husband and I so we appreciated her attention to detail. She took us through markets, where she clearly had a relationship with the vendors. She purchased samples for us and explained the significance of the items. She provided many unique pieces of information about the temples that we visited. It wasn’t the typical “tourist” tour; she provided us with much more in-depth information about aspects of Taiwan’s history and people. After the tour was over, she helped us buy food at a local restaurant and explained what each item was. We certainly didn’t expect that, but was grateful.. I HIGHLY recommend this tour with Garen

5.00I booked this tour at the last minute and it was a very good idea. Garen was an attentive and meticulous guide. Her level of English is very high. A lot of work goes into introducing the visitor to all the historical and cultural aspects of a city. What interested me most was the recent history of Taiwan and the complicated relationship with China. She gave me good suggestions on where to go to eat and what to taste. I regret not having decided to stay longer here in Taiwan. I find Taipei to be a vibrant city and deserving of more than just an air stopover.
