Admire the lake's shimmering teal and turquoise waters, nestled at the base of Gamti Mountain. Head up to the hiking track to begin your ascent of the mountain, soaking up the nature atmosphere.
After about 40 minutes of hiking, reach the balcony of the mountain and observe the expansive, rolling forest and hills stretching out before you. At your feet, gaze in wonder at the stunning views of Lake Bovilla. Breathe in the fresh mountain air on your cheeks in a setting of pure natural beauty. Trail details : Min Altitude : 460 m Max Altitude : 620 m Elevation: 160 m Distance up and down : 1.95 km ( 0,97 km one way) Pause to sip water and chat in the shadows of a mountain cave before descending the mountain along the same route. FREE TIME: During the tour, the guide will give you free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bovilla Lake. You can use this time to have your own snacks or drinks, or choose to enjoy lunch at the restaurant there.

4.00Everything was great, except for one thing. Our tour guide was excellent! The only negative experience was with the administration. I had to reach out to the tour company myself to get the tour details. They told me they would send the information a day before the tour, between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, but they never did. Also, they asked me to meet at a designated pickup point rather than picking me up at my hotel. I had seen this mentioned in other reviews, so it wasn't a total surprise, but I’m still curious why they advertise hotel pickup in the first place.

3.00The organisation of the tour was generally good, and both the guide and the driver did a solid job throughout the day. The only organisational issue was that collecting all participants took around 50 minutes, and shortly afterwards there was already the first break, which felt unnecessarily early. The main problem, however, is simply that Gamti Mountain itself is massively overrated. Yes, the scenery and the view over Bovilla Lake are beautiful, but the place has become completely overrun by mass tourism and social media culture. The viewpoint was overcrowded with people dressed for Instagram photo shoots rather than mountain hiking — many wearing unsuitable shoes, visibly unfit, or struggling with heights, yet still pushing through just to get pictures for TikTok and Instagram. Unfortunately, the atmosphere suffers heavily because of this. There is rubbish in nature, constant posing everywhere, and very little sense of respect for the landscape itself. At times, it feels less like a nature experience and more like an outdoor influencer convention. For people who genuinely enjoy nature, hiking, and peaceful landscapes, I would honestly not recommend this tour. Luckily, Albania still has many far more authentic and less overcrowded places to discover. The only people I would truly recommend this tour to are aspiring influencers for whom it probably does not matter where in the world they are, as long as they can post the photos afterwards.

Magnificent mountain landscapes, but be careful, the trek can be difficult for some people, with risks of falling: a small path to climb over small rocks, a path of small pebbles, and a metal staircase (with a railing). 4.00Considering the price, this tour is worthwhile. Well organized. From about halfway, you walk the rest of the way, so you should be in good walking condition. The stay at the top was personally a bit too long for us, but the view was worth it. However, you cannot access the lake itself; you only have a view of it.
