Lake Bovilla

Begin your tour with pickup from your accommodation and set out on a scenic drive to Lake Bovilla. Discover the patterns of life in suburban Tirana as you pass through the city on your way to the countryside. As you approach Lake Bovilla, see the lake's impressive dam. Admire the lake's shimmering teal and turquoise waters, nestled at the base of Gamti Mountain. Head up to the hiking track to begin your ascent of the mountain, soaking up the nature atmosphere.

After about 40 minutes of hiking, reach the balcony of the mountain and observe the expansive, rolling forest and hills stretching out before you. At your feet, gaze in wonder at the stunning views of Lake Bovilla. Breathe in the fresh mountain air on your cheeks in a setting of pure natural beauty. Trail details : Min Altitude : 460 m Max Altitude : 620 m Elevation: 160 m Distance up and down : 1.95 km ( 0,97 km one way) Pause to sip water and chat in the shadows of a mountain cave before descending the mountain along the same route. FREE TIME: During the tour, the guide will give you free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bovilla Lake. You can use this time to have your own snacks or drinks, or choose to enjoy lunch at the restaurant there.

This tour is a great way to get out of Tirana and see the Albanian countryside for the day. However if you have issues with heat, then I'd avoid the tour in the middle of summer as the bus A/C was not effective in ~35C/95F. I was overheating on the return journey. We really enjoyed the cafe by a natural pool of water but note that you cannot see Lake Bovilla from the cafe. You can stay at the cafe if the hike would be too strenuous on the day but then you only see the canyon approaching the lake. The meatballs with salad at the cafe was affordable and delicious. Note: It was a bumpy off road ride outside of the city but the tour bus handled the terrain extremely well. Our whole group found it to be a fun experience overall.

Good experience, and tourist guide was wonderful ,helpful and very communicated guy .Everything was correct and everything was on time and not only that ,but we had full safety from the driver how he managed to drive us and be on time .See you soon and thank you ,we will book another trip soon.

Great experience. We booked the night before but they were very prompt with great communication. brilliant price. Guide was very welcoming and the hike was a good length, albeit very incline. We enjoyed it a lot.

If you're an outdoors person (or not so much) this tour is a must. Expect a bumpy ride but that's Albania. The bus was comfortable and we had a good driner. Ervin our guide was very friendly and polite and gave us a good insite on Albanias history and culture. The hike itself was very short but steep to the top with amazing views of the mountains and lake. Hiking shoes recommended
