What To Expect
Matanuska Glacier
You will explore one of the most beautiful Valley Glaciers in Alaska with a professional Glacier Guide. Stand in Awe of this magnificent creation, listen to the haunting sounds of the Ice. You will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge including glaciology and geology as you learn about the glaciers formation and history. As you traverse the glacier, you will encounter towering ice walls, deep crevasses, and mesmerizing blue ice formations. This tour is great for all ages, but dress warm, especially in winter
Glenn Highway
Glenn Highway National Scenic Byway Runs parallel to the paths carved by the Matanuska Glacier, the Glenn Highway makes it possible to trace the glaciers that formed this area, and provides some of the most accessible glacier-viewing in the state, as well as amazing geological formations.

Good winter glacier tour

5.00Great experience. Dan and Kim are a married couple that runs this company (I think) and they will be the ones to drive you to the glacier and take you to the little wine and honey shop but they will give you to a Matanuska glacier guide on arrival to the glacier. Unfortunately our group ended up being combined with another so it was an 11 person tour but it was still cool. Definitely not physically exhausting if you are young and in good shape so a little disappointed with the title of "hike." I enjoyed dans commentary during the drive and would not have wanted to drive myself.
Great blue, black, & white ice formations with cool crevices.

5.00This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful tours and hikes I have ever done! Our driver Dan was phenomenal with a personality that matched ours well. The tour company went above and beyond and picked us up amd dropped us off at our Airbnb and even made an extra stop in a small town so I could mail a postcard. Our tour guide for the hike, Tommy, was exceptional!!

5.00Glacier hike was great experience. We had really good time hiking on glacier. Our tour guide Dan was extremely nice guy and gave us lots of information about the tour. Walking on glacier with spectacular view made our tour a memorable one. Also small stop at honey tasting was good.

5.00The glacier was AMAZING! The crew at glacier that guides you were super nice and basically rockstars. I will say, the drive there is pretty tough. It’s a lot of winding, beat up bumpy roads, and if your driver hits those turns going too fast then slams on the breaks like we had, bring some Dramamine…but she was very nice! The shop for the local honey and wine tasting is a cool little place. Not a true tasting but worth the stop! We didn’t get to try the wine, but the honey was really good and the woman making the coffee was very sweet. This glacier hike is a once in a lifetime opportunity you won’t want to miss.

2.00Didn’t care for it. The pictures are misleading as we went in August. So we were walking on black debris. Just walked on rocks. It was not white at all. Wouldn’t recommend in the summer. Probably different in the winter. And, it was over a 2 hr drive there from Anchorage and 2 hour drive back.

5.00The glacier guide, Edin (sp?) was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and engaged, clearly passionate about his work. He did a great job keeping everyone safe, including a couple small kids in our group. The group size was good, at about 15 people. We spent about 2 1/2 hours on the hike. It wasn’t too challenging. The views were amazing. The wine and honey stop afterwards wasn’t really necessary. It was fine, but seemed tacked on.
