  Our Matanuska Glacier hike was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Our driver set the tone for the day—knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely friendly. She made the journey enjoyable and gave us great insight along the way, which added so much to the overall experience. Once we reached the glacier, our guide completely elevated the adventure. He was fun, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, making us feel both safe and excited the entire time. He went out of his way to take photos for us, making sure we captured unforgettable moments. Hiking all the way to the top was surreal, and getting the chance to drink fresh water straight from the glacier was something we’ll never forget. To top it all off, we ended the experience playing with the silt and even got a “glacier facial,” which was such a unique and playful way to wrap up the day. Let’s not forget we stopped at The Honey pot for honey and wine tasting and some coffee this place is worth visiting on its own! This was absolutely worth it in every way—an unforgettable adventure that we would recommend to anyone looking for something truly special.

  The guided glacier tour is suitable for a wide range of abilities with some steeper parts. We were provided with crampons and you do not necessarily need snow boots. There was little wind I felt fine without a hat. The honey and wine were a delicious treat after about 2 hrs of walking/hiking on the glacier. For ice cave experience I would wait for June/July:

  I was truly happy to have lived that experience. Every moment felt special, from the breathtaking views along the road to the stunning landscapes that surrounded me. The journey itself was peaceful and inspiring, and hiking all the way to the glacier made it even more unforgettable. Being so close to nature, seeing its beauty up close, and feeling the fresh air made me appreciate the experience deeply. It is something I will always remember with joy.

  Great experience. Dan and Kim are a married couple that runs this company (I think) and they will be the ones to drive you to the glacier and take you to the little wine and honey shop but they will give you to a Matanuska glacier guide on arrival to the glacier. Unfortunately our group ended up being combined with another so it was an 11 person tour but it was still cool. Definitely not physically exhausting if you are young and in good shape so a little disappointed with the title of "hike." I enjoyed dans commentary during the drive and would not have wanted to drive myself.

  This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful tours and hikes I have ever done! Our driver Dan was phenomenal with a personality that matched ours well. The tour company went above and beyond and picked us up amd dropped us off at our Airbnb and even made an extra stop in a small town so I could mail a postcard.   Glacier hike was great experience. We had really good time hiking on glacier. Our tour guide Dan was extremely nice guy and gave us lots of information about the tour. Walking on glacier with spectacular view made our tour a memorable one. Also small stop at honey tasting was good.
