Wasim was great and very friendly. He is very talakative and knows very well the terrain. We really enjoyed the hike. The forest was awesome. I wish we had more time to spend around the island, but this hike was tough and lengthy. This excursion is a great option for those who enjoy serious hiking.

Such a beautiful hike in St. Kitts. The weather was overcast so this experience was so much better than just heading to the beach. Our guide was wonderful. Pick-up and communication was very smooth. Book your hike with them!!

The hiking route through the rainforest was very beautiful, hence the one star. Unfortunately, the guide, Janeel Boon, was terrible. He arrived over an hour late to the meeting point at 10:04 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. When we arrived at our destination, he tried to make up for lost time, checking his stopwatch every few minutes. We were only allowed to stop for two or five minutes at the eight scheduled breaks to drink water. The constant refrain was: "Push it!" and "Don't talk!" He separated participants so they couldn't talk to each other. The dripping resin from the trees oxidized and ruined our clothes and shoes. There was hardly any time to enjoy the experience.

BEWARE: the hike is VERY strenuous and takes ALL DAY - an hourlong bus ride to get to the trail (due to all the cruise ship traffic), AT LEAST 2.5 hours up to the top and 2+ hours back down, plus another 30 minute bus ride back to the port! The tour started at 9:45 AM and of the 16 total people in the group, 12 of us were from the same cruise ship. From the beginning, it was made known that we all needed to be back on the ship no later than 5:30 PM for a 6 PM disembarkation. My partner and I are in our mid-thirties, fairly active, and experienced hikers, so didn’t physically have any issues with the intense level of activity; however, the majority of the group was definitely not prepared for the arduous nature of the hike. This meant that my partner and I, along with a few other fit couples, were constantly stuck waiting (often in the rain) for the rest of the people to catch up, constantly worrying that we would not make it back to the cruise ship before it left port! There were 6 of us that finished the hike by 3:45 PM, which was just under 5 hours from when we started. Originally, the tour guide said that we would have to wait for the rest of the group to be transported back to the port together, which was NOT okay since they were well over an hour away from finishing their hike! Fortunately, we were able to communicate with the tour operator via a group WhatsApp chat that was started before the tour began, and they arranged for the 6 of us to be driven back right away, then made a second trip for the remainder of the group. At no point during the hike did the tour guides say to the group they had to turn around or risk not getting back on time. While my partner and I were back onboard the cruise ship by 4:15 PM, the second group did not get back until 5:55 PM! Their only saving grace was that the ship-sponsored excursion that was on the same hike was also late getting back, for what we later found out to be the same reason as ours. All in all, I found the hike to be invigorating and the view at the top was absolutely stunning! The main tour guide, DJ, was friendly and very helpful in navigating the terrain - carefully explaining where to place your feet/knees/butt and what to grab on to for leverage at every difficult passage. However, I seemed to be the ONLY one on the tour (including my partner) that was prepared for the intensity of the excursion.

Rewarding experience once you reach the top of the peak and finish the hike in it's entirety. However, the disclaimers of this being a challenging hike are not lying and it should be considered if you plan on booking this experience. The incline up the hill is not easy and it's hard on your breathing especially in very hot weather. Since the hike is divided by 8 points, it becomes easier at 5-6 so make sure you hydrate and wear hiking shoes because the mud makes this challenging

This was an amazing experience. Our guides were awesome and the view at the top spectacular. That said it is a physically challenging hike where you have to climb roots and rocks.

We had the most amazing experience hiking with Janeel and his team—it was one of the highlights of our entire Caribbean trip. You know when you read a review that says “hard hike,” but really a barefoot five-year-old can do it? That is NOT this hike. This was tricky! There was climbing over large tree roots, scaling up rocks, sliding in mud. And it was so worth it! It was by far the most fun hike I’ve ever done, but it was tricky. If you decide to go, please, please, please read all of Janeel’s tips and take them seriously—the change of clothes and shoes, the water and the salty snacks/electrolytes. A few ill-prepared members of our group didn’t make it to the top or got cramps on the way down. Yet the 7, 12 and 15 year-old children who were prepared did just fine! Be prepared for the physical activity and getting VERY dirty. I lift/run regularly and the humidity/altitude really got me the first half of the hike. My husband is moderately active and made it, but it was a struggle. I don’t know if it is “harder than childbirth” like some of the reviews say! Ha! But I will say, you need a good set of lungs because you don’t get to slow down. It’s continuously fast-paced throughout the hike. (Side tip: if you’re someone who chafes, wear leggings. It’s not too hot in the morning underneath the protective trees. And my husband got several scrapes and bruises along his legs.) The banana bread and electrolyte juices they gave were lifesavers! Also be sure to bring hand wipes! Overall, I would go again in a heart beat! The views were par none, and the tour guides are so friendly and helpful. It was some of the best money we spent on our vacay! Thanks Janeel and team!!

All the guides were great and helpful. We were five minutes late to the meeting point and they were still accommodating. The hike to the Crater is tough. Brutal if you have knee problems (like me). It's steep, long, humid, and muddy. You will likely slip and fall at least once. Know your abilities before signing up. I'm 45 and in good shape (i.e. Gym 5 days a week), but with bad knees, the climb down was very painful. The guides were still understanding, and very helpful despite my (and others in group) limitations.

The crew was super kind and patient. Jaleel was amazing and just an all around great human. The hike itself is not for a beginner. My boyfriend finished it and said it was brutal. The best part for me was coming back down! Make sure you are hydrated properly. Wear good hiking shoes, not regular old Nikes or new balance.

Hiking Mount Liamuiga was one of the most meaningful experiences of my trip to Saint Kitts. The hike was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and being deep in the rainforest made it feel really special. My guide, Djae, was supportive, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable the entire time, which allowed me to truly enjoy the hike and the views. This hike alone would have been worth the trip. Janeel, the owner, was also incredibly kind and helpful, offering multiple suggestions around the island that felt like I had a personal guide for my Saint Kitts trip. When I had an unexpected flat tire with my rental car after the hike, both Djae and Janeel stepped in and helped without hesitation, which meant a lot to me. Their kindness turned a stressful situation into a non-issue. I will absolutely be hiking with JB Taxi again on my next trip to Saint Kitts and would recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable and well-supported Mount Liamuiga experience. Thanks to them again for the outstanding service, hospitality, and care I received!
