You’ll explore not only the beautiful nature but historical sites with me!
During the hike, we will visit a couple of old Buddhist temples and Bukhansanseong fortress.
This route is the shortest way to reach the summit. Everyday more than 20,000 people hike in Bukhansan mountain to escape from the city. If you want to experience what locals love, this is a must-visit place. You wouldn't believe this huge city has such a beautiful nature!
I hiked in Kilimanjaro, Himalayas, Fuji, Alps and many other mountains in the world. I think Bukhansan is as beautiful as, or even more beautiful than these mountains I hiked. The scenery is unbelievably beautiful. I believe you will have the most memorable travel in Korea through this hike!

Bukhansan is the only national park and the highest mountain in Seoul. We will hike to peak, Baekundae. It offers breathtaking scenery, and an amazing view of the cites. You wouldn't believe such mountains are located in this huge city. During the hike, we will visit old Buddhist temples such as Doseonsa. It was established in 862 in Silla Kingdom by Doseonguksa monk. According to the legend, he broke the huge rocks with his bare hands and carve Buddha. Interestingly, it doesn't have any evidence of chisel marks. We will also walk along Bukhansanseong fortress. The fortress was built in 1711 in order to protect the Joseon dynasty from foreign enemies. You can enjoy not only nature but also historical sites during the hike. This is the shortest route to the summit. If you want to experience what Koreans love, this is the place you should explore. Over 10,000 of locals hike in Bukhansan everyday. In 2020, over 6 million visited in total. Wear comfortable shoes and bring enough food for the 6-hour hike. You can buy food such as Gimbab (seaweed roll) near the trail. Then you’re ready to hike in Bukhansan with nature lovers! Check out our Instagram for more info! @honeytrailkorea

This was my first hiking experience with Lee and I had an amazing time from start to finish. She really made me feel safe and took care of everything along the way (even lunch which was delicious). The path uphill has been really taken care of so it is not too bad :) The view from the top was AMAZING and really worth the effort. We had lunch at the top with a beautiful view of the city and mountains. The visit to the temple was amazing and Lee explained everything thoroughly and answered knowledgeably every question I asked. A MUST do experience in Korea :D Don't be afraid, you will be in good hands :)

Early morning start meeting the local guide Lee, at Bukhansan UI station. Where you can find a handful of shops in case you require last minute snacks, lunch, or even some hiking gear that you may have forgotten. The hike up the mountain is invigorating, walking past and visiting local Buddhist Temples. As you hike up the mountain you start to get lovely views over the local area. Near the top you will get assistance with steel cables if required to assist you going up and down the mountain. The views at the top are breath taking and well worth the hike. While hiking Lee stops numerous times for rest breaks and quick picture of the surrounding area. We also stopped for lovely Gimbap lunch at the rest spot around halfway up. Lee speaks English excellently and even understood my Scottish accent. She has an amiable personality and personable demeanour with a wonderful cheerful outlook. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the mountain and the places you will see while hiking up Bukhansan Mountain. I would highly recommend Lee to anyone who would like to Hike up Bukhansan Mountain or any of her other Tours, you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful hike with a spectacular peak. The view is great from the top and the peak itself is amazing. The type of rock is nice and we had our lunch break there, that was cool. On the way up we visited a temple first and in between the hike a small praying spot in the rocks, that was nice to see.

Had an amazing day out on the mountains! We met mid morning at Bukhansan UI station. A handful of shops in case you need last minute snacks, lunch, or even hiking gear. We headed up the mountain, it wasn't too busy as I prefer to hike during the midweek. The pace was great, not rushed at all, really based on your ability I would say. It was great to get have someone who knows the mountain, and can give some insight into the history of Korea and the mountains! There were also Buddhist temples in the mountains which you pass by, and we made sure to stop, and take time to admire them and snap some photos! Super friendly, good conversation, and just a really amazing day. Would highly recommend any of her tours as she is super nice and fun! She even brought a nice print out she made of some simple Korean phrases and the alphabet if you are a foreigner, which will help guide you once you get off the mountain! We hiked up the and down off the hill which I prefer, instead of hiking in and out ( up and back down the way you came). We hopped on a bus at the end of the hike and she took me to the nearest Subway station, so it was easy and quick to get back! Highly recommend, Was super fun and I hope do more tours again! Thank you again for a great day!

The guide was very knowledgeable of the area and gave many interesting stories about the history. She had a positive attitude that made a new comer feel comfortable with her easy-going and chill character. Visitng quite a few beautiful temples along the way made it a truly rich hiking experience and I definitely recommend this unique experience to anyone who wants to feel the harmonious life of monks in the mountain. If lucky, you may even get to have a lunch in one of those temples. Hiking was also fun, active and some rock scrambling combined. Overall, highly recommended, fun and educational, lots of good photos and memories!
