Kruja is a historical city symbol of the Albanian resistance against the expansion of the Ottoman Empire during the XV-th century. Kruja is situated in central Albania on a rocky mountainous terrain about 560 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Kruja Mountain.
The Old Bazaar: Walking through the narrow streets and the wooden houses of Kruja’s Medieval Old Bazaar (one of the biggest and oldest in the Balkans) gives you a sense of a passage through history. This is the best place to shop for souvenirs in Albania, from typical to more unique and handmade souvenirs such as carpets, jewelry, etc.

I went on this tour solo, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had — easily a 10/10! 🙌 We visited Gamti Mountain, Bovilla Lake, and Krujë, and every single place was absolutely stunning. The nature was breathtaking, and the view from Gamti Mountain is something you truly shouldn’t miss. My guide, Gjenc, was simply amazing. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything about the places in a really engaging way, but he was also fantastic at taking photos. I’ve honestly never had such beautiful pictures of myself before, that alone made the experience even more special! We also had extra time during the tour, and on the way back to Tirana, he took me to an archaeological site that wasn’t even part of the original itinerary. That made the whole experience feel even more unique and personal. Overall, a perfect tour with a guide who truly makes a difference. Highly recommended! 🌟

Gamti was nice — easy hike, pretty. Bovilla Lake was great — guide for ATVs was very conscious of safety for the drivers; the view of Bovilla Lake and surroundings mountains was amazing. Nice restaurant at top to sit outside and enjoy the view.

This was an outstanding trip. I would definitely recommend. The tour guide, Gjenc, was really friendly and knowledgeable, the vehicle was very comfortable and the small size of the group made it much more personal and tailored to the individuals. Bovilla Lake was absolutley stunning - a must see for anyone travelling to Tirana. The small size of the vehicle meant you could go very close to the top so it was only a ~10 min walk to the amazing view point. Kruje was also a lovely place. The bazaar was interesting to see as was the castle grounds. Views again were worth seeing. Thanks for a great tour.

Our guide, Gjenc, was outstanding. He shared a wealth of information about every place we visited, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, and made the experience both engaging and enriching. He took us to a stunning lake, beautiful waterfalls, and the city of Kruja, each stop thoughtfully explained and perfectly timed. He also made a lot of photos :) This excursion was without doubt a highlight of our trip to Albania — a deep dive into the country’s culture, history, and, of course, its remarkable nature.

Very well organized. Smaller operation so it was very tailored to the people on the tour. My group was a little slower than me and they were unable to hike luckily they all waited while I did the hike. They're smart to go early to beat the other groups

The pick up was at Flora Cafe and on time. Tour guide was very friendly and he does this tour daily. On the way he tells history of Albania. At Bovilla lake You'll face a 25 minute hike up in a hill with fantastic views! Hike isn' t hard. After hike there is a chance to grab a cold drink at the bar on hill and relax and enjoy view. If You hadn't time to try famous Albanian drink of raki, then no worries, after Bovilla lake, at Kruja, you'll have a chance to try traditional Albanian cuisine with recomendations at really good restaurant, and raki was great there. View from restaurant is also fantastic!
