Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
At Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, visitors can deeply engage with history and peace. Start at the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome, a haunting reminder of the devastation. Wander through the Peace Memorial Museum to learn about the events of August 6, 1945, and hear survivors' stories. Reflect at the Cenotaph, which lists the names of those lost, and offers a poignant view of the Dome. Visit the Children's Peace Monument, adorned with colorful paper cranes, symbolizing hope and resilience. Stroll through the serene park, appreciating the various sculptures and memorials dedicated to peace, and participate in moments of quiet reflection and remembrance.
Atomic Bomb Dome
At the Atomic Bomb Dome, visitors can deeply connect with history and the resilience of Hiroshima. The Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a stark reminder of the devastation of the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. Visitors can walk around the structure, taking in the preserved ruins that contrast with the surrounding modern city. Informational plaques provide historical context and personal stories of those affected. The Dome serves as a powerful symbol of peace, prompting reflection on the impacts of war and the importance of global harmony. It's a poignant site that offers both education and a space for contemplation.

You must request Tomoe has your personal guide while in Hiroshima / Miyajima Island, as she was one of the most caring, expert, friendly tour guides we’ve ever had the joy to spend time with. She communicated with me for months ahead of our tour to put together a perfect itinerary (Memorial Peace Park and Miyajima Island). She even spent a lot of time working with us to figure out the best restaurant on Miyajima Island, sending me lots of ideas and menus ahead of time. She spoke about the Hiroshima sites with such compassion and sensitivity. She constantly led us to shady areas and gave us breaks to ensure the heat and humidity didn’t zap our energy. She planned a perfect day and even pre-purchased the museum and ferry tickets ahead of time to make our time more efficient (we of course paid her back).

If you are pressed for time and want to see the highlights of this city, do book this tour with Noriko. She was a fantastic tour guide and her command in English was exceptional. We had a great time with her… visiting Miyajima Island and viewing the Hiroshima peace park, museum and the atomic bomb dome. Despite what happened to this city 80 years ago, it has outdone itself- even better than parts of the United States. I highly recommend visiting Hiroshima and Noriko!
