Atomic Bomb Dome

5.00Aki was an outstanding guide. She was knowledgeable, organized, and very easy to talk to. Her explanations were clear and full of interesting details, but never felt overwhelming. She balanced history, local culture, and practical tips perfectly. What we especially appreciated was her warmth and attentiveness—she noticed what we were interested in and adjusted the pace accordingly. Her English was excellent, and she answered every question with patience and depth. The tour felt very personal rather than scripted. I’d highly recommend booking a tour with Aki . She made the experience memorable and gave us a much deeper understanding of the area than we could have gotten on our own.

5.00Mai was absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, welcoming and keen to answer our questions. She helped us make the most of our short time in Hiroshima/Miyajima and helped us understand the important history of Hiroshima along with providing us an authetic local experience (which we would not have found ourselves). We were sad to say goodbye.

2.00A bit of a disappointment. Although our guide is a plethora of knowledge the tour itself was difficult in general. I would recommend if you book this tour to make sure what you’re signing up for.

5.00The most important thing about this tour is to have Akie as your tour guide. She is the perfect person to lead you through the beauty of Miyajima and the tragic past turned hopeful future surrounding the city's past with the bomb. She is incredibly knowledgeable, fun, funny, and honest. Akie's English is excellent as she helps you to learn more about the Japanese language and culture. She took us to a local Okonomiyaki spot, educating us about the dish and the differences from region to region. The dedication to peace and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons is an important theme for the tourand goal for the city. Thank you Akie!

5.00Aya-san created a very informative and pesonalised tour for our first day in Japan. As a local she was able to take us to some beautiful places like the Shukkiein Gardens and to lovely eating locations for snacks and lunch. aya is a wealth of information about the history of Hiroshima and Japan and brings her own personal experiences. 5.00Our tour guide was Kazuko Mensing - she is a fantastic guide, her knowledge of the city and its history is excellent. Importantly, she is a lovely lady to spend a day with. She shared the lived experience of her mother a survivor of the A bomb with us - it was incredibly moving and we saw at the museum her mother’s account of that terrible day. It was incredibly moving. This is a city all should visit. We also visited Miyajima island which is beautiful and the Itsukishma Shrine. Kazuko knew all the best places to visit to avoid the crowds and took us to places we would never have known to visit. We also had a fabulous oyster lunch at her recommendation. A wonderful day - I cannot recommend this tour enough.

5.00An amazing day that started at the beautiful Shukkeien gardens. Our guide met us at the Airbnb and we walked there. From there we went to the Miyajima island to view the o-torri Monument. Then we did a walking tour around the A-dome ending at the museum. Our guide Kazuko was incredible. She gave us a lot of information about all the monuments and special places and what each one meant. Walking around alone, we would have missed 80%. It was great using all public transit and walking. Just make sure to get your bags stored for the day before the tour. My 80 year old parents and my 13 and 15 year old kids loved the day as well!
