Atomic Bomb Dome
The A-Bomb Dome, or Genbaku Dome, is one of Hiroshima's most iconic and haunting landmarks, preserved as a stark reminder of the devastating atomic bombing on August 6, 1945. Originally the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, this structure was one of the few buildings near the epicenter to survive the blast, though it was severely damaged. Its skeletal remains have since been carefully maintained as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, symbolizing the resilience of Hiroshima’s people and their commitment to peace. Visitors to the A-Bomb Dome can walk around the structure, observing its preserved state, and reflect on the immense destruction caused by nuclear weapons. It stands as a powerful testament to the horrors of war and a call to action for global nuclear disarmament, offering a profound and sobering experience for all who visit.

We had a great day in Hiroshima with Kay. Since this was a private tour Kay was able to adjust the schedule to meet our interest. WE wanted to go to Miyijima Shrine and see the Atomic Bomb museum and surrounding area and Kay made all the travel between locations seamlessly. She even arranged a delicious meal at a local restaurant. Thank you Kay for a wonderful day.

Kasuko was probably one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and considerate from the start. She listened carefully to our requests and tailored the day to what we were interested in seeing and doing. What we appreciated most was that she provided just the right amount of information. interesting and insightful without overwhelming us with details like we’ve experienced with some guides in the past. She also took us to an excellent lunch spot, pointed out great places to try local food vendors, and even bought us a few little snacks along the way so we could taste some local specialties. It made the experience feel very authentic and personal. At the end of the tour, she found us a taxi, spoke with the driver to make sure we were heading to the correct destination, and later checked in with us to make sure we arrived back safely. Her level of care and professionalism truly stood out. We would highly recommend Kasuko to anyone looking for a wonderful tour experience.

Kazucko was amazing. She made history come alive. She took learning outside of the classroom. We had a group whose ages ranged from 21-80. She adjusted her pace to fit the group, Was knowledgeable about history. It gave us a different perspective on Hiroshima as an American. What a humbling and informative experience. Lunch was good. Tour was worth every penny!

Our tour guide Kazuko Was extremely knowledgeable and provided great details around the history, even sharing her personal connection. We also enjoyed a trip to Miyojima to see the famous Tori Gate. Our guide had an incredible amount of knowledge about Japan and the Hiroshima area. However we booked this tour expecting to be able to tailor it to what we wanted to do but our guide had a set tour in mind which is what we did. This had pros and cons. The pros were a visit to an elementary school museum showing the effect of the bombing on the local children which we would have missed if he had not taken us there and which is a hidden gem. The cons were no down time to explore areas further on our own.

We had a great full day experience. Everything went well from the initial communication, to meeting up, entry into the museums and exhibits was all seamless. Kazuko had a good, flexible schedule for us that covered Hiroshima and the dropping of the atomic bomb as well as a side trip to Itsukushima island. Pricing was fair and upfront. We had a really enjoyable full day with Kazuko. Family of four (2x adults , 2x kids) visiting in Jan . 2026
