Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen) is one of the most prominent features of the city. Even visitors not looking for it will likely stumble upon the large park of over 120,000 square meters. Its trees, lawns, and walking paths are in stark contrast to the surrounding downtown area. Before the bomb, the area of what is now the Peace Park was the political and commercial heart of the city. For this reason, it was chosen as the pilot's target. Four years to the day after the bomb was dropped, it was decided that the area would not be redeveloped but instead devoted to peace memorial facilities. Admission Fee: ¥200

Yuko guided us in Hiroshima and Miyajima on a personalised day tour. She is an incredible tour guide. Yuko demonstrated her professionalism and enthusiasm in so many ways, like contacting me beforehand before settling the itinerary and making a reservation for us at her favourite okonomiyaki restaurant for lunch. The entire family including teenage sons thought the tour was fabulous. We were blessed by blue skies and were deeply moved by our visit to the Hiroshima Peace Park. Yuko demonstrated how to make a paper crane so we could add ours to a chain of cranes promoting peace. Her English is very good. We highly recommend going on a tour with Yuko.

Our guide Hiroshi picked us up in our hotel and first we walked to the impressive Peace Memorial Museum. After visiting the Memorial Park including Dome and Childrens Peace Memorial, we took the boat to Miyajima, where we had an amazing afternoon. All the time Hiroshi guided us with his charming way and great knowledge. He showed us many unknowen places and made the day to an unforgetable experience. He arranged lunch on Miyajima and made a reservation for dinner after our tour. We can definetely recomend this tour and specially our guide. Thank you so much, Hiroshi!

Eri gave us a very informative, insightful tour of Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park and the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. It is a lot to cover in one day but she had planned it perfectly. A very good tour with a friendly tour guide. Highly recommend.

We had a fascinating day with Namitsu. Namitsu, met us at the Shinkansen platform and was very helpful in getting our voluminous luggage stored, making sure we made the most of our day in comfort and that we got on to the right platform and train for our onward journey to Kyoto. She was very informative, teaching us about the religious practices at Shinto and Buddhist shrines as well as the the history of Miyajima. Despite terrible weather we had a wonderful day at this most beautiful place. She also found us a gorgeous place for lunch there. Hiroshima was very moving. Namitsu was a font of knowledge. I am so glad we had her with us to take us round the Peace Park and explain the event , the aftermath and the memorials, particularly the monument for peace to commemorate Sadako Sasaki and the thousands of child victims of the atomic bomb. The Museum itself was very crowded and it was hard to see the photographs and exhibits through the throng, so having Namitsu's guidance before going to the musuem was invaluable. Namitsu also organised for us to savour a typical Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Namitsu is a lovely lady and I would highly recommend this tour.

Our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our day out with Hiroshi-San who was infinitely patient and thoughtful. We really came to appreciate Hiroshima after this tour and had a great day out. Thanks to Hiroshi-San we had a great private lunch in a private room for our group. We also feasted on the local conger eel dish he organised for us. Thank you Hiroshi-San for making our trip so very interesting and insightful. We are all very grateful.

Yoko was wonderful to work with. She reached out prior to our tour day to ensure my family and I were spending the day doing what we wanted to. After a few e-mails she came up with a wonderful itinerary. We caught an early morning ferry to get to Miyajima; we missed the crowds at Itskushima Shrina and the island ropeway. we left the island after lunch and head back to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. We had an amazaing day with Yoko as our guide.

We had a good time with Mai our tour guide. She took us around and gave us a good historical tour. My only regret is we were not able to do all the places listed as part of our tour.
