Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen) is one of the most prominent features of the city. Even visitors not looking for it will likely stumble upon the large park of over 120,000 square meters. Its trees, lawns, and walking paths are in stark contrast to the surrounding downtown area. Before the bomb, the area of what is now the Peace Park was the political and commercial heart of the city. For this reason, it was chosen as the pilot's target. Four years to the day after the bomb was dropped, it was decided that the area would not be redeveloped but instead devoted to peace memorial facilities. Admission Fee: ¥200

The tour to Miyajima and the memorial spots in the city were great! Out tour guide Yuji was very kind and friendly! From the start on, he was talkative (compared to general guides in japan) and picked us up from the hotel! Everything was perfectly guided with a lot of information and a clear route! We even made a typical prayer in a dark room together for family happiness - a very heartwarming and precious moment together. Even the sensitive topic (at Atom-Bomb spots) was told very objective and transperant. It was a brilliant experience! Very recommendable - THANK YOU YUJI

Hiroshi made our day in Hiroshima and Miyajima Island truly unforgettable. From the moment we set out, it was clear we were in the hands of someone who doesn’t just know this region — he genuinely loves it. What set Hiroshi apart was the depth of insight he brought to Miyajima Island. He didn’t just point out the sights; he wove together history, local lore, and personal perspective in a way that made everything feel alive and meaningful. You leave not just having seen the island, but truly understanding it. His lunch recommendation was spot-on — exactly the kind of place you’d never find on your own but will be thinking about for weeks. And the coffee spot he chose afterward was the perfect way to wind down and soak in the day. If you’re visiting Hiroshima, don’t hesitate — book with Hiroshi. He’s the rare guide who turns a great trip into an exceptional one.

Wonderful excursion at Hiroshima! Yuki, the tour guide, is very friendly and experienced. She worked with me before the tour via emails on the details of excursion. The plan of excursion was executed very well. We really enjoyed the okonomoyaki lunch recommended. Thanks Yuki.

Covered interesting places, especially the Peace Memorial and related nearby sites. Very helpful navigating Hiroshima’s public transit system, which would have been challenging if done on our own. Could have been more forthcoming with historical information, but we nonetheless saw and learned a lot.

Akie was a wonderful tour guide. She was very organized and managed our time well. This was supposed to be an 8 hour tour, but due to our ship’s earlier departure, we had to cut it short. She had a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed sharing it. She was very pleasant and jovial and we shared a very tasteful lunch okonomiyaki at a local restaurant.e

Hiroshi was truly an extraordinary guide. Being from the island himself, his deep love and pride for his home were evident in everything he shared with us. He took us to both the well-known landmarks and the more sentimental places that clearly held personal meaning for him, giving us a perspective we would never have experienced on our own. One of the highlights was visiting his local temple, where he guided us through a peaceful moment of Zen—it was such a remarkable and memorable experience. We also enjoyed a wonderful traditional lunch at his sister-in-law’s restaurant, which we thoroughly appreciated. Throughout the day, we learned so much about the culture, shrines, and traditions of the area. Hiroshi truly went above and beyond for us, even helping us purchase our train tickets home at the end of the day, which we were very grateful for. His kindness, knowledge, and personal touch made the entire experience unforgettable.

We had such a great day with our guide Minori. Right from the start we had great communication to plan our day. We let her know what we were interested in doing and then she made an itinerary. We weren't sure where the cruise shuttle would let us off until the last minute but it was no issue communicating and planning a place to meet. Minori has a vast knowledge of Hiroshima which enhanced our tour. We visited multiple sites and took the high speed ferry to the Shrine on Miyajima Island. We also had a fantastic lunch that was a welcome break in the middle of the day. Minori was very mindful of the time we needed to return to the ship. We never felt rushed. Overall the day could not have been better. We would not hesitate to recommend Minori as your tour guide for your day in Hiroshima.
