Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen) is one of the most prominent features of the city. Even visitors not looking for it will likely stumble upon the large park of over 120,000 square meters. Its trees, lawns, and walking paths are in stark contrast to the surrounding downtown area. Before the bomb, the area of what is now the Peace Park was the political and commercial heart of the city. For this reason, it was chosen as the pilot's target. Four years to the day after the bomb was dropped, it was decided that the area would not be redeveloped but instead devoted to peace memorial facilities. Admission Fee: ¥200

What an amazing tour! Yuko was absolutely wonderful—warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the history and culture of the region. Her enthusiasm truly brought Hiroshima and Miyajima Island to life, and she shared stories and insights we never would have discovered on our own. We did a full-day tour and the pacing was perfect. Yuko guided us seamlessly through busy areas, ensured we never felt rushed, and always knew the best viewpoints for photos. Her organization, thoughtfulness, and deep respect for the sites made the entire experience even more meaningful. We walked away with a much richer understanding of both locations and felt genuinely cared for throughout the day. Highly recommend this tour, and especially Yuko, to anyone visiting the area!

Miyajima island tour was excellent. Yuji provided useful background information about the island & major sites to read while we were on trains and showed us parts of the sites we would not have noticed if we had done the trip alone. He also set aside time for us to enjoy the sights alone. Very responsive and respectful. The trip to the Peace Park was emotionally difficult but he was sensitive to our experiences. He made sure we heard the stories of how the bomb affected ordinary people.

My parents and I had an amazing day with Yuko. We did five guided tours while traveling around Japan, and she was the best. She was a wealth of knowledge as she lead us through beautiful Miyajima, helping us learn more about the island, its famous gate, shrine, and temple. She even knew the best photo spots for us! Midday we stopped for delicious local cuisine before heading to Peace Park / Ground Zero. It was a heavy way to end the day, and again Yuko excelled at highlighting important locations and reviewing their historical significance. Highly recommend seeing both of these locations while in Hiroshima, and this tour is a great way to do it in a day -- especially if you're lucky enough to have Yuko as your guide.

We had only one day in Hiroshima, and Yuji made every minute count. He was incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, and organized, guiding us seamlessly through both Hiroshima and Miyajima. His thoughtful explanations and deep understanding of the area added so much meaning to our visit. We left feeling informed, moved, and completely impressed. If you’re visiting Hiroshima, booking a tour with Yuji is a must—he’s truly exceptional!

This has been one of my favorite days in Japan! Yuji was incredibly knowledgeable and took good care of my family, even getting us a wheelchair when needed and finding elevators instead of stairs. He helped us navigate public transit (which was a great experience!) and knew all the best spots. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

This was an outstanding day tour of Hiroshima and surrounding area. Our guide met us promptly at the cruise pier and guided us through using public transportation (trolley, train and ferry). We spent the first part learning about the atomic bomb and it’s impact on the city and then took the ferry to Miyajima Island and explored the several temples and parks that are there and had a Japanese “pizza” for lunch which delicious. On the way back on the ferry, our guide showed us how to make origami cranes which are the symbol of peace for Hiroshima. It was a perfect day.

Great tour of Hiroshima. I’d studied so much about WWIi and the brutality of it and nothing can prepare you for the impact of the museum and memorial. Kahori told us so much about the city through its rebuilding and gave us a great mix of experiences, from food to feudal history to local religious movements, covering 2000 years of history. We saw the modern side too talking about the local economy and industries and marketplace shopping. Highly recommended

Yoko (our guide) was amazing! She was kind, knowledgeable, funny & had us do some unique things like the dark underground tunnel @ Daishoin in Miyajima. We never experienced a caring tour guide like Yoko. We highly recommend this tour and Yoko as your guide. She will even show you how to do origami!

We were a group of eight and took the tour to Hiroshima and Miyajima Island with Sei, and it was absolutely amazing. Sei was outstanding from the very beginning—he communicated with us before the tour, made sure we knew exactly where to meet him, and was already waiting when we arrived. He guided us with care the entire day. One of our group members had mobility challenges, and Sei immediately offered alternate routes and made sure they never felt left out. His personality is wonderful—warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about what he does. Sei shared so much insightful history throughout the tour. When we visited the Peace Park in Hiroshima, he showed us a meaningful video that explained the history and impact of the atomic bombing. It was incredibly powerful, and the young adults in our group were truly moved. Miyajima Island was breathtaking, and experiencing it with someone who knows the culture, history, and hidden gems made it even more unforgettable. This was truly a trip of a lifetime, and having Sei as our guide made it even better.
