Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park (平和記念公園, Heiwa Kinen Kōen) is one of the most prominent features of the city. Even visitors not looking for it will likely stumble upon the large park of over 120,000 square meters. Its trees, lawns, and walking paths are in stark contrast to the surrounding downtown area. Before the bomb, the area of what is now the Peace Park was the political and commercial heart of the city. For this reason, it was chosen as the pilot's target. Four years to the day after the bomb was dropped, it was decided that the area would not be redeveloped but instead devoted to peace memorial facilities. Admission Fee: ¥200

If you’re visiting Hiroshima/Miyajima, book Hiroshi!!! This was one of the best tours we’ve ever done. Hiroshi tailored the entire day to suit us perfectly and even sent through a thoughtful itinerary beforehand, which made everything seamless and stress-free. We visited Miyajima, explored Itsukushima Shrine, took the ropeway to Mt. Misen, enjoyed incredible local food (the freshest salmon and tuna nigiri I’ve ever had!), wandered Omotesando Shopping Street, and visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Hiroshi was exceptionally knowledgeable, thoughtful, and engaging throughout the entire day. One of the most meaningful touches was him teaching us how to make paper cranes at lunch so we could leave them at the memorial later. Every detail felt personal and unforgettable, right down to the lovely gifts he gave us at the end. I truly can’t recommend Hiroshi highly enough!, An incredibly insightful and moving experience from start to finish.

Two weeks ago Sei was our tour guide for an 8 hour tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. He was in contact with me by email prior to our meeting at our hotel in Hiroshima. We stayed at the Granvia Southgate which was attached to the train station. I had requested that when the tour was over, he would escort us to our train platform for our departure to Kyoto that same day. Sei was very organized in the way he guided us from the Peace Museum to the Peace Memorial, to the ferry to Miyajima, around the island to see the Itsukushima Shrine and the floating gate, and even a bonus at the end, the Daisho-In temple, then back by ferry, bus and right to the train platform well in time. He took all the stress out of what could have been a tense itinerary.

We had an incredible experience visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima for the first time. Our tour guide, Yuji, made the experience one we will never forget. From start to finish the trip was thoroughly enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable explaining meaning, symbolism, answering questions and went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Yuji really tailored the tour to things we found interesting and made transport with trains and the ferry very easy to navigate- as we did a day trip from Osaka. My husband and I were very fortunate to have Yuji as our guide. Highly recommend this private tour if you are considering Hiroshima and Miyajima!

We came to Hiroshima as a family and met our guide for the day Nori at the station. The day was excellent overall. Nori took us to all the important spots and was very knowledgeable on Hiroshima and its history. We would recommend a tour with Nori if you decide to come to Hiroshima.

Hiroshi Tsuji is an extremely thoughtful and engaging private tour-guide in Hiroshima and Miyajima, Japan. We spent a beautiful day with him on a personalized tour of the Miyajima Torii Gate and Ichiki Shima no Migato temple. Additionally, we had a solemn and moving experience at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. We would highly recommend him as a very professional tour-guide who will deliver a truly memorable experience.

Fantastic tour guide very knowledgeable. The Hiroshima museum is very graphic but with current world situation a must see about the reality of war. The sacred island is great but do head the warning about the deer as we saw people who didn't have the deer steal and eat unsecured items and you are warned multiple times. I loved this tour the good and the bad weather need to know Hiroshima history especially now. Fantastic guide

Sei was exceptional in every way. The tour of the peace memorial was both humbling and beautiful and Tei spoke passionately about the city and how it and its people have rebuilt it. An absolute legend and one of the kindest and gentlest people you will ever meet. One of the best guides we have had anywhere in the world. Thank you.
