Discover with us one of the most fun experiences in old Jeddah. Before naming it as the royal seaport for Makkah in 657 AD, the Al-Balad site, “Historic Jeddah”, was built on beautiful coastal land. The area has a fascinating history.

It was founded in the seventh century and was once the beating heart of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Balad can literally be translated as "The Town. We will Explore the old town and try some traditional dishes and go shopping in the bazaar.

Itinerary:

1. Pick up from the hotel or the Cruise Pier.

2. Start walking around the unique buildings

3. Grabbing local beverages in an old cafe.

4. Visiting Al Shafei's old mosque.

5. Visiting Biet Nassif.

6. Visiting Gabel Street Souq (bazaar).

Exploring the old city is very exciting, Abdullah was helping me a lot with all attraction and history between every building we see. We have a good time exploring market around di area. So grateful to have him as a tour guide

Abdullah, the guide picked us on time. He was knowledgeable and caring. He adapted to our preferences and showed us many hidden places along the tour. The old city Al Balad is colourful, absolutely safe and full of history.

This was a fascinating tour of Jeddah’s old town, covering the key sights and lots of hidden gems too. From old buildings with staircases for camels, to spice markets and winding stone streets, it was a great introduction to the culture of the city and country. Osama was a fantastic guide and a great ambassador for Jeddah and Saudi Arabia. His deep knowledge and amusing stories really brought the history alive. He also kindly scheduled regular stops for refreshments and aircon, as welcome breaks from the heat. Don’t miss the camel milk gelato and sugarcane juice! I’d highly recommend the tour and hope to return some day. Thank you!
