Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa. This 96000 hectare Park is home to the African Big 5, Wild Dogs, Cheetah and much more.
Historically this is also the Park that single-handedly saved the Rhinos from near extinction in the '60s when less than 100 Rhinos roamed the planet. King Shaka also made use of the southern section (Umfolozi) as his personal hunting grounds in days gone by.
This park not only offers the most magical sights and sounds but some fascinating historical facts. All of our rangers have numerous years of experience in their respective fields and will undoubtedly ensure that you have a marvelous day out on your Full-Day PRIVATE Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Safari.

A fantastic guided tour with Phingy. Her good humor and friendliness were truly infectious. A wonderful, old park. We enjoyed it more than Kruger National Park.

We went on a big 5 safari into the hluhluwe imfolozi park and It was mind blowing, the knowledge that our guide Kyle has of the area and the animals was extraordinary. He not only helped us tick off our bucket list of animals we wanted to see, but we managed to see them all in the first 3 hours of the tour. Kyle served us a scrumptious breakfast in the park as well as a traditional South African braaied lunch. The most memorable sighting was definitely the rhino's for us, Seeing how they don't have horns due to protecting them against poachers made us respect the park authorities even more. Kyle goes over and beyond to make his guests happy and comfortable. I will definitely be back for another safari especially if Kyle is our guide.I would highly recommend this tour and guide to all our friends and family

A fantastic day exploring Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. Our guide Kyle was amazing: funny, knowledgeable and always going out of his way to make sure we got the best possible viewings. Breakfast and lunch served up in breath taking locations in the park was delicious. We had a great hyena sighting, a beautiful encounter with a baby rhino and a thrilling cheetah kill. And lots more. Heritage Tours and their guides always go the extra mile to offer you a memorable bucket list experience. A must do if you are in the area. Spoil yourself.

We booked the Exclusive Private Full Day Big 5 Safari just two days in advance. Initially, there were no available slots, but Nele kindly let us know when one became available—communication was quick, efficient, and very friendly. The Safari itself was an unforgettable experience, also thanks to our great guide Phindy who is very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and gave us fascinating insight about the flora and fauna, as well as the history of the park. The food offered was very good, we mentioned in an email that all of us are vegetarian, and the meals were planned accordingly. We were lucky to see 4 of the "big 5", which was awesome, and overall it was a great experience with a great guide. Would definitely recommend. P.S: Bring warm clothes, as the wind in the early morning can be very cold. (especially in winter months)

We were well looked after during the booking process by Nele, by email and also in person in the office, and on the day of our private safari by our guide Siyabonga. Everyone was concerned to make our experience as memorable as possible. We had a wonderful day: a knowledgeable and passionate guide who was also a good driver & cook! This was our third experience with Heritage Tours and Safaris and we hope to be back for a fourth. Bill & Esther

We booked 2 private tours for our family. Me, my husband and our 3 kids aged 11, 8 and 3. And we were lucky to have Kyle as our tour guide on both the Hluwhluwe as Ismangaliso tour. Kyle knows a lot about both parks as he grew up in St Lucia and on top of that is just a very nice person to have around. Taking time to answer all the questions, having patience with the kids and taking them just as serious as us adults. Although both parks can be traveled on a self-drive I absolutely advise a guided tour. Because you see more and you learn more. If we were to visit St Lucia again we would definitely book another private tour and ask for Kyle.

Excellent day out. The drivers are very good and know how to find the animals. We saw rhinos, a cheetah, giraffes and lots more. They should sell merchandise. They give you a very good quality blanket to keep warm in the morning. It has the company logo on it. I would have bought it if they sold them.

We had a fabulous day, thanks to the Heritage team. At the last minute our ship cancelled our scheduled port and moved us to another port a day later. We thought our safari would have to be cancelled but Nele and the team made several changes and arranged to pick us up the new port … everything was perfect! Our guide Kyle went all out to ensure that we had a great safari experience. We even saw the BIG 5!! BBQ Lunch in the Bush was delicious! What an experience! The day could not have been better .. we are so grateful to Nele, Kyle and the rest of the Heritage team for making it happen!

We had a full day tour coordinated by Sifiso, our knowledgeable guide. We had awesome sightings of antelope, buffalo, elephant, various birds and the highlights were multiple cheetah sightings, a baby crocodile and an impala male tussle. The nutritious bush breakfast, and scrumptious Braai (barbecue) lunch were excellent. (And they accommodated my vegetarian request !) Overall, a highly recommended safari tour, with an experienced guide and memorable sightings!

2 game drives done with our family of 6, with 2 different drivers. Both days a lot of wildlife seen up close. Professional guidance. The first guide, Theo, was great. Enthusiastic, very nice and cozy! The 2nd didn't have his day, but still spotted a lot with him, including a cheetah, 2 rhinos and a lion. Furthermore, many wildebeasts, impalas, seaebras and giraffes.
