Although the city is chaotic with endless slow-moving traffic, the hustle and bustle of the city do not affect the unique friendliness of the people. An easy greeting of hello in Vietnamese, "Xin Chao", is sufficient to taste the local hospitality. Forget about shopping and must-see attractions for a while. Let me show you the real Saigon.
- The tour is private and flexible so there are only you and your family on tour.
- Our tour mostly focuses on understanding locals' way of life, culture, history and cuisine so we will visit different aspects of the city (local wet market, CIA building, stilt house areas and the likes).
- There are no shopping and tourist traps during the tour.
- All guides are licensed, knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic.

Another vote for Xuan's tours. We were a group of 8, sailing on Celebrity Millennium and we docked at Vung Tau for HCMC. We had booked the suggested, by Xuan, tour and were were picked up promptly and left the port a few minutes ahead of schedule. Our tour included Chinatown, temple in Chinatown, rickshaw rides, visit to wet Market, flower market, wholesale Chinese Market before stopping for lunch at a recommended, very clean, restaurant (not included). After lunch we visited the War Remnants Museum, the Presidential Palace (outside only), the Post Office and a view of the CIA apartment from where the last helicopter left in 1975. Overall, a very busy and interesting day. Our guide, Martin, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was a great tour, half the price of a ship tour and we were back a the ship 2hrs 30mins before sailaway.

Our group of 12 (six senior couples from the US) recently sailed on the Silver Nova from Singapore to Hong Kong February 12-26. I spent the past year organizing private excursions/tours in each of our ports (Bangkok, HCMC, DaNang, and Halong Bay), a total of seven tour days. Thanks to fellow CC users, I was easily able to find tremendous suggestions of private operators. I researched each thoroughly, and then contacted my candidates in early 2025. In Saigon (HCMC), it was clear that Xuan was the man to hire. Throughout the past ten months, he was extremely prompt and thorough with his communications. His quoted price was outstanding. TOO good, in fact, such that I worked with him to substitute a larger bus at a slightly larger price so that we would not be squeezed into a 13-passenger vehicle. We had Xuan for three days: day one was from 1-8pm and included dinner in town; day two was from 8am-5pm to the Mekong Delta and included an amazing seafood lunch, and day 3 was 8am-1pm and included amazing phō and beer for lunch. Nothing could have been smoother or better organized. The only inconvenience for us was that, because we were not on a ship-sanctioned tour, we had to take a free shuttle bus for a three-minute ride from the ship to the port entrance to meet Xuan and his driver. Given the fact that our excursion cost half of what the cruise line charged, this was no inconvenience at all. Xuan is knowledgable, energetic, enthusiastic, thorough, organized, and a true joy to spend time with. We have invited him to visit us in California. Our group gives him our highest recommendation. You should have no trouble finding him online.

This tour was fabulous! there were 4 of us landing on a cruise ship. None of the ship excursions looked very interesting and after some quick research I found Tour with Xuan. While Xuan was already books for our desired date and time, he set us up with Ms. Hanna. We met the team at the port entrance (no pedestrians within the port) and after a quick greeting we entered a nice, clean and comfortable bus (small 8-10 seater type) to begin the tour. Ms. Hanna quickly started a conversation then described the plan for the day. Several times during the day she would stop her conversation and ask us if the itinerary was acceptable and if we wanted to change anything. We all had such a great time there was no need to change anything, but it was quite thoughtful that she wanted to be sure we were seeing things we preferred. The whole trip was filled with local stories and very specific information about Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and each specific location we visited. Ms Hanna answered all of our questions expertly. Note that she also was cognizant of our all-aboard time for the ship and made sure we arrived back in time. We all agreed that Ms Hanna was friendly, courteous, funny and just plain fabulous. It was absolutely one of the best tours I've ever been on. Everything we did and saw was spot on and expertly planned. The RickShaw (trike) ride is not to be missed. You get a unique view of the city and its life from a very interesting perspective. The driver also deserves props, as there was never any place to park that bus in the crowded city so he expertly dropped us off and magically appeared to pick us up as we finished that portion of the tour. No standing around waiting. It was all excellently planned and delivered. If I ever go back to Vietnam, first thing I'll do is contact Tour with Xuan and request Ms Hanna.

I rarely write reviews but our tour guide Hanna made this day an unforgettable experience! She communicated with us days before the tour via WhatsApp and was waiting for us on the dock at the planned time. Hanna and the driver did a fantastic job getting us to all the sights around HCMC, it was VIP service as we were dropped at the “front door” everywhere we went. We also went to a great local restaurant for lunch - a real treat. I do need to mention Xuan, his response to all our communications before the trip were impressive. Any question we had was answered almost immediately via email. The entire experience from booking to our final “good bye” exceeded all of our expectations. We’re were a group of 3 couples and everyone is still talking about our experience with Hanna.

We along with 8 other Princess Cruise Diamond Princess passengers just had an amazing 3 tour days with Xuan “Soon-ee”. He gave us a wide look at Vietnam and the lives of it’s people from the big city, Ho Chi Minh City to a truly lovely vacation spot Hội An, and the countryside including small villages, farms, local crafts, and rice fields. The transportation at each site was a very comfortable van that was easy to get in and out of (all of us were over 65) from the US, Australia and Canada. He selected excellent local restaurants for us. We felt he gave us a true taste of life and the beautiful people of Vietnam. Above all else was his wonderful personality. We would highly recommend Xuan and would certainly contact him should we return to Vietnam. Vietnam tour with Xuan https://www.tourwithxuan.com Andy & Sue Knoxville, Tennessee

Our two days with Xuan were the highlight of our Asia holiday. He is exceptional. Pre tour communication was excellent, his written and spoken English is outstanding. He went out of his way to ensure our tours were tailored to our requirements. He really cares . I cannot speak highly enough of Xuan. I never thought I would eat Mudskipper, it tastes like chicken!

Our tour guide, Martin, and his driver were prompt in picking us up for our Ho Chi Minh City tour. It started in the early afternoon after lunch, and we visited many markets, temples, and highlights of the city. As he was a walker just like we enjoy, we walked over 5 miles during the day and evening. In fact, we walked back to the ship in the evening, which made it even more special, seeing all of the nightlife and vibrant energy the city and people have to offer. Martin had a lot of energy and was articulate and thorough answering our questions and explaining the Vietnam culture. We learned about current customs/traditions as well as historical perspectives, all in a way that was easy for us to understand. Martin purchased small gifts for us, and we tasted different types of foods along the way. All in all, it was a fantastic tour that we recommend. In fact, Martin took us to the CuChi I'll be a few minutes before tunnels the second day, and I will talk about that in a separate review.

Xuan Le re-designed our Ho Chi Minh tour after the ship docked a little late than expected. Fantastic day!! Chinese temple, Rickshaws through China town & yummy Pho Ga at a local eatery for lunch. Could not fault the service from the first time touching base with Xuan to the end of the tour - exemplary!! And the driver of our van was excellent too! Highly recommend!

We found Tours with Xuan via Cruise Critic and when Xuan was already booked for days we were in Vietnam he set us with Hannah / Han in Hi Chi Minh City and Mr Lap in Hoi An / Danang. Our tours with them were the highlights of our trip! Hannah organized rickshaw rides through the chaos of Ho Chi Minh City which were absolutely crazy but the single most memorable thing we did! She took us for fabulous Vietnamese coffees at a very special place. She was super personable and provided lots of information everywhere we went. In Danang / Hoi An I started getting a cold so decided to just do Hoi An. Mr Lap is an absolute professional- his English is amazing, and he really educated us on the history of the area. In Hoi An he took us to the most interesting houses that are also the family’s businesses, and also the most fabulous coffee house tucked back in a small street- it was a “if you know you know” spot for sure. Both guides were accompanied by drivers who did a great job and the vans were very comfortable. Thank you Xuan, Hannah & Mr Lap- you made our time in Vietnam very special!
