We don’t just visit popular tourist spots — we walk the backstreets, eat at authentic family-run eateries, and enjoy meals just like the locals do: sitting on small stools, laughing, and sharing stories.

What To Expect
Hoi An
At our first stop, you’ll step into a bustling local eatery tucked near the riverside, where the sounds of sizzling batter and smoky grilled pork fill the air. You’ll watch local chefs prepare bánh xèo (Vietnamese savory pancakes) right in front of you — golden and crispy, filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. You’ll also get to taste juicy grilled pork skewers (thịt nướng) fresh off the grill, and wrap your own gỏi cuốn (fresh spring rolls) using rice paper, herbs, and vegetables. Don’t worry — I’ll guide you step-by-step! It’s a fun, hands-on food experience where you’ll eat like a local and learn how these dishes reflect Vietnam’s balance of texture, flavor, and freshness.
Hoi An
At this stop, you’ll visit one of Hoi An’s most famous bánh mì shops — a place that has gained international attention. In fact, world-renowned chef Anthony Bourdain visited this very shop and called the bánh mì here a must-try! As we arrive, you’ll see baguettes being toasted to golden perfection, the smell of fresh herbs and grilled meat filling the air. You’ll get to choose your own filling — whether it’s pork, chicken, egg, or even vegetarian — and watch the vendor skillfully assemble your sandwich with homemade pâté, pickled vegetables, chili, coriander, and sauces. We’ll enjoy our bánh mì just like the locals do — on a small stool by the sidewalk — while I share fun stories about Vietnamese street food culture and how this simple sandwich became a world-famous dish.

5.00David was an amazing guide. So good we booked him twice! First a food tour through Da Nang for a group of 17 and a second food tour through Hoi An. The food was all incredible and seeing different areas of both cities, but David’s knowledge and bubbly personality we enjoyed the most. Definitely recommend David and his tours.
Don’t eat a thing before you go on this tour!

5.00The absolute best. David is so kind and happy and knows being a local, knows Hoi An so well. His “mission” was to ensure I was so full I couldn’t eat another thing. He was absolutely successful. 5.00I had a really great time on this food tour with David! It was just the two of us so he fit the tour to my dietary preferences. He is a local so I got to learn about Hoi An and all of the culinary specialties! We had the Vietnamese pancake, noodles, banh mi and sweet soup! The food was delicious and there is plenty of it! Definitely recommend booking - it will be a memorable and unique experience!

5.00Today I did the food walking tour with David. We ate at places where the locals eat which was so nice and the food was very delicious! David is an very nice and social guy. He speaks English very well and he knows al lot about the history of Hoi An and the local food. I would recommend him. David is the best!

5.00This was one of my favorite experiences in Hoi An. David was a fantastic guide—friendly, informative, and clearly knows local food especially in Hoi An, his hometown. The highlight for me was the best bánh mì I’ve ever had and the flavorful cao lầu noodles you can only find in Hoi An. The whole tour felt personal and authentic. Highly recommend!
