Jon and Michaela did an awesome job of telling the history of the area as well as making it fun. They took priceless pictures for us as well.

This was worth every penny! The tour was spectacular and the photos that Jon took were amazing. Just a couple of warnings ahead of time: consider going either early in the morning if you’re commuting by car so you can get a good parking spot nearby. It’s really difficult to find parking as the day goes on as this is a hotspot for tourists. I took my 5 and 6 year old with me and it was wonderful for them - they’re used to hikes so they handled it well. Bring plenty of water and also some patience - Jon takes his time to get the perfect shots on his camera so you can have the best photos of the experience. Jon brought lots of water bottles in case anybody forgot. It’s worth the wait so just be aware. Also, there are NO bathrooms on the trail. Get all your business done before you arrive. I also want to mention that Michaela, the one who coordinated everything was wonderful. She messaged me before the tour and was super flexible with our schedule changes. I had a family emergency the day of our tour and she was able to get us rescheduled. Huge shout out to her for helping me out. She also assisted me with finding parking - we ultimately had to go to a parking garage and Uber to the park since the parking was THAT atrocious. We did this tour during Memorial Day weekend so that would explain why. Again, this was worth every penny! You will love it, but do consider my warnings especially if you are doing this with young kids.

The experience was great! The tour guide Joe was very friendly and knowledgeable. His dog, Scout, knows the trial very well also and is always there in case of an emergency. I would give this tour a 10/10 and recommend anyone to book with him.

Absolutely loved the tour. Other reviews say you can do walk on your own for free, which is true, but doing that would mean you miss all the interesting facts and jokes shared by the guides. The price is really good value for what you get and we were offered complementary water and snacks on the way up too. We also wouldn’t have found the great spots for photos that they stopped at. They were very happy to take multiple photos for us which are all brilliant quality. The first half of the hike is pretty gentle with it only really getting challenging for the second part, but even then I would consider it a moderate difficulty walk. Hands down the best thing I done whilst in LA! We booked directly with the company rather than through a company as that made sure they got 100% of our money rather than the tour companies taking a fee!

My friend and I did the full 2.5 hour tour with Hollywood Hikes and it was the highlight of our trip to LA. The guides were so friendly and knowledgeable, Jon guided the first section and his wife Michaela then took us to the top section behind the sign. I would only class the second part of the walk as requiring any effort, I'm not very fit but managed fairly easily as the the path is all tarmac and climbs steadily. Just mention it in case anyone thinks they may not be able to do it, it's definitely worth the extra effort for the amazing views. The guides carry water and snacks too if needed. We booked directly through the Hollywood Hikes website which had loads of extra information to answer any questions you may have.

John and Michaela were fantastic! We loved hearing the history of the sign and the area. We were able to go at a slow enough pace that the long hike was very doable., considering some health issues we have. They know the area very well, and it is obvious they do this often. Michaela is not lying when she says they take fantastic pictures. The pics were amazing!
