The feeling of climbing straight above the sea is not something you get on many other Via Ferratas or climbing routes elsewhere. Having lunch with your feet dangling several hundred meters above the sea, while ships are passing below and eagles are flying on the same height, makes for for an incredible experience. The route offers varied climbing, accommodation both seasoned rock climbers and active people wanting a challenge.

What To Expect
We will take you on a Via Ferrata adventure up the Wall of Witches, consisting of hiking along the shoreline, before climbing straight above the sea. The route ends half way up the mountain. This is our moderate route, graded to C/D on the Via Ferrata-scale ranging from A-F. The heights and spectacular views will definitly get your blood pumping and create an experience you will not soon forget. If this made you thirst for more, come back for our hardest route, the Olavsrute, summiting Hornelen.

5.00Liu was a fantastic guide for our 6-hour via Ferrata experience on the Hornelen wall of witches. She gave very clear instructions and made it very easy for us. She was patient and personable and very knowledgeable about the area, giving good recommendations and sharing advice for travelling in Norway. We had a great day. We would highly recommend.

5.00This is a must do! What an incredible experience. I was lucy to be the only person signed up and the guide did a perfect job keeping one safe. The view is breath taking and the trip itself is amazing!! On the tour there were space for shorter and longer breaks plus one toilet and running water from a small waterfamm

5.00We had a great private guide for just the two of us. We did the Witches Wall light, which was exciting for a first time via ferrata, but not too challenging. The hike in was gorgeous and the guide was definitely necessary, encouraging, and experienced.

5.00We had two great days together with Felix, our guide. He was trustworthy, skilled and thought us all we needed to know to stay safe in somewhat challenging weather with rain and gusts. The first day we did the wall of witches and the second Olavsruta. Both spectacular in their own way, but Olavsruta was far more challenging and a true cliffhanger. Felix guided us safely to the top, where there awaits a great and quite lengthy hike after four hours climbing. Over all a fantastic experience 💪💪👏👏

5.00We did the first part of the via ferrata with my 12-year old daughter. A bit of a hike to get to the climb, but views were fantastic. It was a lot of fun and we wish we had kept climbing longer. Our guide, Paul, was terrific. Would highly recommend!

5.00We had the best experience with Via Ferrata at hornelen, and all because of we decided to get a guided tour. We were guided by Paul, who gave us the greatest and safest experience. One of us is a climber, but the other one isn’t. Paul secured the non-climber, and made them feel comfortable the whole route through. I can recommend the guided tours to everyone, and especially because of Paul who made our tour safe and fun.

5.00Good guide! Good route and good grip, felt safe. Had with youths of 12, 14 and 15 in addition to 2 adults normal trained. Everybody got to the top! An airy and amazing climbing experience :)

5.00We went hiking/climbing the Hekserute with a fantastic group of co-hikers. The guides, Ian and Felix, gave us an incredible tour. They are really good at seeing all participants in the group, and share from their knowledge and experience! The weather was on our side, with sun, some calm and refreshing wind and clear sight to all the amazing viewpoints from the wall. We have done some other via ferrata’s earlier, this one is the most spectacular so far, and also the most challenging one. However we never felt insecure, even though we had to approach the limit within our comfort zone. Highly recommended!
