my experience offer a chance to know the chatina culture of my comunity. I live in the village and only with my experience you can visit 2 tradicional houses where the families produce cheese and tortillas, part of our economic activity.
we will know our hot springs zone called atotonilco, and we will can give a litte shower to the horses in to the river and ride without sadle like the local people do it in raining season.
This experience can be private for big families.

We will visit a village called San Jose Manialetepec, where families has a farmers and cattle activities. we wiill know my house where we can talk about our culture, we will visit a house for to see how to make tortillas. we will ride to the hot spring during 50 minutes with calm horses, where we will cross six times the manialtepec river. i offer enjoy of a great time for swim in to the cold and hot water. 3.00The horses were beautifully trained, good for beginners, and the guy leading us was friendly via non-verbal communication, very chilled. The landscape we travelled through was beautiful, too. The hot springs were lovely, most hotter than we could manage! Incredible natural heat, very exciting. I've given three stars purely because we didn't get some of what we paid for and when I contacted Willy at Experientias Nativas to find out what happened we never heard back. So it's more of a flag to check the package: no English guide, tortilla-making or mezcal-tasting, which we had been really looking forward to. But the horse riding and hot springs are a must if you are in the area!

5.00An extraordinary experience. Make sure you wear sunblock and if you forget a hat, they have some there you can use. Make sure you pack water and snacks because none is provided. Be aware that if you dye your hair and you dip your head in the water it does strip your color. It also tarnishes some silver. My stainless steel & gold did fine tho.

1.00This event was a total disaster. No one contacted me the day before, and instead I got a phone call before 8 am saying there was a community event and they needed to reschedule the trip until 3 pm same day. I rearranged my entire day (staying this day in Puerto precisely for this event), and was ready to go when I got another call at 2:10 pm canceling the excursion. Had they had the courtesy to cancel in the morning my hotel could have arranged another trip, but because they canceled at the last minute I wasted an entire day. I can't say enough about the unprofessional behavior of the tour leaders.

4.00The ride to the hot springs is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I do wish the guide offered more explanation, guidance with the horses by leading us and more history of the springs but the hot springs themselves are very relaxing, well preserved and there is a river alongside of them if they feel too hot for you. Overall would highly recommend it’s a unique and beautiful experience!

4.00This was an amazing really experience but 100% as detailed in the experience. We did ride horses to and from the hot springs but didn’t learn about the culture of the village. Our guide pilo/pilar was lovely but dint speak English (I had selected an English guide) which was a bit daunting when none of us had ridden a horse in a while. The horses were really well trained and the country side was beautiful. I’m really glad we did this experience but may not be for everyone

5.00This was one of the times of our lives.. the beauty of the trail was breathtaking, the horses were serene, the hot springs and the history of the Chatinos spiritual baths our guide told us about was spell bounding. Absolutely magical.
A lovely experience riding horses along rivers to hot springs! Super recommended for the whole family.

5.00Very nice experience to get off the beaten track in the beach area towards the mountains 20 minutes from Zicatela to a village that has hot springs and water birth. The tour arranged transportation for us via taxi, and we were taken to a ranch where the horses were ready for us. First we started on a main street and headed to the river where we rode horses and crossed the river like 6 times. The horses are strong and very well cared for, you can tell they treat them well. There was a little dog from them who was our guide. We are wearing a towel, swimsuit, sunscreen, a cap and pants. Also bring water and something to eat like no shop nearby. We were in the hot springs for like two hours and bought some coconuts there. The water is hot and also allow you to go down to the river that is cooler.
