The views on this hike were amazing and one of the best parts of our 3-day trip to San Diego. My husband, 14 yr old son and I thought this hike had the right amount of challenge: not easy but not too difficult to complete. If you have a fear of heights, there are definitely some spots you will feel uncomfortable. Granger was an awesome guide and coached us through the trickier parts of the trail. He was patient, respectful of the terrain and the group's abilities and shared a great deal of knowledge about the surroundings. A must-do if you're in decent shape and like a physical challenge with amazing views during your stay in the San Diego area!

Granger was amazing! Incredible slit canyon tour. We did it at our own pace. Need to be able to scramble over rocks and walk through narrow slit canyons. Granger inspired us by having us repeat 1, 2, 3 and breathe worth it!

We had an awesome experience with Granger on our hike through the Slot Canyons. He is knowledgeable and attentive to his guests. Granger’s wisdom and love for nature is contagious. He also took beautiful photos for our group. It is not a ‘easy’ hike by any means but it is worth it! Wear appropriate hiking shoes if possible, and bring a small backpack for water if you have it - you will need your hands free. I will carry this lesson I learned from Granger: Don’t worry about steps 7,8,9 - just focus on steps 1, 2, 3 and the rest will follow.

A once in a lifetime experience. A challenging hike, but an absolute worth with incredible views of the La Jolla area. Granger is very passionate about what he does and makes this experience an extra special.

Our guide, Granger, was extremely experienced both in hiking the local trails as well as being an effective tour guide. My husband and I LOVED this adventure! This route is what Granger called "full-body hiking" and that is a perfect description. It is a physically challenging excursion, requiring balance, agility, strength, and cardio fitness. This is not for young children (or adults) who cannot focus or follow directions. Granger gave detailed instructions as to how to scale and descend the more dangerous parts of the route; you will be safe and have a fantastic time IF you can focus and follow instructions in English. Granger also has a wealth of knowledge about the local flora, fauna, and geological structures, which he enthusiastically shares! It was definitely a highlight of our time out in La Jolla!

Granger is the ultimate guide. His love for what he does is apparent from the get-go. He knows what he is about. Although I found that at some points the trip was a bit of a physical challenge (I am 71 and physically in shape) Granger was there every step of the way to extend a helping hand I would say that if you are looking for an experience along with incredible knowledge of the surroundings this is one for you.

This experience was unforgettable from start to finish. Granger isn’t just a guide — he’s a true steward of nature. His deep knowledge of the land, stories about the ravens, and passion for conservation brought the landscape to life in a way I’ve never experienced on a hike before. The route itself was far more rugged and beautiful than anything I would have found on my own. With Granger’s steady coaching — especially his “1–2–3 and breath” technique — I was able to push past my comfort zone and tackle climbs I initially hesitated at. Each pause revealed stunning views, hidden canyons, and dramatic ocean vistas that felt like secret places only he knew existed. And then the grand finale: standing atop a cliff, we watched dolphins playing in the surf below — a magical reward for the journey. If you’re looking for an experience that blends adventure, nature, and insight with a guide who truly cares, this tour is absolutely worth it.
