Our culinary journey begins at a charming local bakery, where we’ll indulge in the iconic brezel, a traditional Tyrolean pretzel. Freshly baked, warm, and with just the right amount of salt, this delicious snack is the perfect introduction to the region’s flavors.
Markthalle
Next, we’ll step into the bustling Markthalle, a local market brimming with authentic Tyrolean produce. Here, we’ll sample a variety of regional specialties, including rich, creamy cheeses and other local delicacies. We did the Innsbruck Food and walking tour this past December while visiting from Boston, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. There were six of us- our family of four )including two boys, 17 and 14) plus my sister and brother in law- and it was a great fit for all ages. Our guide, Inka, was wonderful— friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to spend a few hours with. She took us to a variety of spots from local food stops to drinks, and did a great job mixing in some of the history of Innsbruck along the way. It never felt rushed, and we got to experience places we definitely wouldn’t have found on our own. Overall, it was really fun, relaxed way to explore the city and try different foods. I’d highly recommend it for families or anyone looking to get a feel for Innsbruck beyond the typical tourists spots.

Excellent food tour, very well organised, Federica was lovely and very friendly. I could taste local beers, local pastries, one of the best strudel in town (sacher torte was also an option), local cheeses in local market and a tyrolian tipical dish, I was in good company around Innbruck city center and got lots of useful information that only a local can give. A must do. A small raccomandation, just go with an empty stomach so you can eat until the end!

Frederica was very kind and answered all of our questions during the food tour. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour so it was a private tour! We tried different local cheeses, pretzels, authentic Austrian entrees, beers, wines, and dessert. Well worth the money for the food and the company

We had a great tour with Inka. She was a font of knowledge about local culinary delights and the history of Innsbruck. One tip: Tyrolean food, while delicious, can be heavy - I would recommend starting the tour on an empty stomach.

We had a wonderful tour with Inka. In addition to introducing us to tasty and unique local snacks and delicacies, she also gave us some local history lessons, and gave great recommendations for other activities and places to dine. So it was both a solid culinary tour and a nice introduction to Innsbruck.
