Enjoy a full winter day discovering the basics of cross-country skiing just south of Stockholm. This 6-hour trip is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to experience a classic Swedish winter activity for the first time.
We begin with a drive from Södermalm to Lida, a beautiful forest area known for its stable winter conditions. The ski track is 2.3 km long, wide, and snow secure, as it is maintained using stored snow. If fresh natural snow has fallen, we may also head further into the forest to ski in more untouched surroundings for a more authentic feel.
Your instructor will guide you step by step, helping you build confidence on the skis while learning the essential techniques. The pace is relaxed, and the activity is suitable for anyone with normal fitness.
Midway through the tour, we stop to enjoy a warm outdoor lunch by the fire before continuing our skiing session.

It’s an active excursion so don't dress too warm, but bring an extra layer for when standing still! It's best to have clothing that dries up quickly, so avoid cotton if possible! Wool and polyester (often seen in sport specific clothing) are best. Dressing in many layers is recommended over having one thick layer. This provides better insulation and it's easier to take off one layer when you're too warm.
Thin gloves and hat/beanie, thick socks are a must

The ice was challenging for skating, but our guide Johan made it work with a mix of skis and skates. Great attitude and skills, beautiful sights, good food, great group.
