  TLDR; Can't recommend Discovery Dive Centre and our experience with Margot enough. Every tiny detail was considered and handled- we felt truly looked after - an extremely personalised experience and complete highlight from our entire Thailand trip. We had the most incredible experience with Discovery Dive Centre, starting right at the point of enquiry right through to being dropped back off at our hotel. We were recommended to the centre and got in touch by whatsapp to see if they had next day availability. Having never dived before, I had a couple of questions, all of which were answered very promptly via whatapp and I was able to book easily online, they had great availability! We were drawn to them because of their commitment to small group sizes and qualified, dedicated and experienced staff. My one bit of advice for anyone before booking, is if you're uncertain about any medical conditions that might affect your ability to dive, ask for the medical questionnaire before booking so you can see what would need a drs sign off and make sure you can get an appointment before booking. We were very fortunate, my husband was able to see a dr in Koh Samui for as little as £4 the day before the dive to be signed off, having had ear surgery years ago. However, we did this in 'low season' on the island, so not sure what a drs last minute availability would be in high season. We were picked up from our hotel promptly; met at the dive centre by the very friendly staff who all introduced themselves and told us who would be looking after us that day. We had a thorough intro into diving 101, sorted paperwork and what would be happening at each step of the day was explained. It was all brilliantly organised and made very clear and gave us huge confidence we were in great hands. We were extremely impressed by how much was handled and thought of by Discovery- everything was thought of by the dive centre to the last detail (including sea sickness tablets if needed!) We were thoroughly looked after by Margot, our dive instructor, the entire day, in and out of the water. The boat crew also took care of everything from helping us in and out of the water & sorting out our needs on the journey. We felt very looked after and thought of, with everything that had been considered. I was a much more nervous diver than I'd anticipated I'd be, and Margot was extremely patient, understanding and went at a pace that was needed for us. Having her there every step of the way made my dive experience what it was- a total triumph and one I was extremely proud of! She was very encouraging, positive and knowledgeable. It was just my husband and I with Margot, and for non-divers this was the perfect ratio; I'm not sure if 1:2 is the requirement or usual practice, but it made for an extremely personalised experience, we were able to communicate our needs to Margot and go at a pace and depth with no pressure or guilt of anyone else in the group and made us feel very safe. I would absolutely recommend Discovery Dive Centre and their introductory dive for non certified divers. A total highlight form our trip to Thailand, thanks again Margot!

  Best Experience Ever!!!! Now ticked off my bucketlist!!!! Went through everything on land. My husband and I were the only beginners so we had Pierre all to ourselves. Pierre was amazing, such a great bloke, and gave great instruction. Our first dive was amazing, the different fish and coral's, we were blown away. Loved it. Lunch on board the boat was so delicoius, rice with a beautiful Thai Curry and fried chicken. Our second dive took us to Shark Island. Awesome!!!! It was like I was in another world. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. Thank you so much to Pierre and His Team!!!! If I have one bit of advice to future beginners it would be to equalise your ears as you go down, not wait. Hold your nose and blow! Happy Diving Guys, you won't regret it!!!!

  Fabulous trip with Discovery Dive Centre - cannot recommend them enough for their professionalism, friendliness and care on our family "Discover Scuba Diving" Day with them. The whole day was highly organised and well explained, and under their expert guidance we picked things up quickly and always felt very safe. Lola was brilliant in helping me one-on-one gradually manage the pressure in my ears, while everyone else was off and away and diving independently by the second dive. We all got to see some amazing fish, coral and underwater sites. A real highlight of our post GCSE trip - we would all go again tomorrow...

  This was my third diving experience and I had a wonderful time. The staff were all friendly. I was lucky to have Mann as my instructor who looked after me and two less experienced divers. I wish that I had been told about the option to hire a water proof camera though and then I would have some photos to add!!

  Me and my wife absolutely loved the dive trip with Discovery team. Phillip made the whole experience absolutely seamless for the both of us. We were both first time divers and now we are excited for diving in different locations. Thanks to the team at Discovery for making our first experience a memorable one.

  We are beginner divers who were well taken care of by discovery team. We were given clear instructions. I told them about my claustrophobia and anxiety disorder ahead of the dive and the team took utmost care of me and my partner. I was given constant support and motivational talk whenever the anxiety kicked in. My partner was given extra attention on breathing technique until he got it right. We chose to photographed and they did a pretty good job. We were provided with a beautiful video that we would cherish forever. Thank you Discovery team!

  It’s advertised that pictures/videos are included but they were not. My guide Naoe was kind enough to use her camera and take some videos. She was great, patient, everything was clearly explained to us as first time divers. The second dive was much easier than the first. Definitely worth it and would come back some time in the future with better weather! Also, a small meal/drinks was served after the first dive which was nice to have!

  I had never been scuba diving before but Mae and the Discovery team made my experience wonderful! Even though it was all new to me, I felt prepared and well taken care of so I could fully enjoy the beautiful Thai fish and coral! Even if you just want to snorkel, I highly recommend Discovery Dive Tours!
