Just a short drive from Ísafjörður through a scenic mountain tunnel lies Bolungarvík, one of Iceland’s northernmost fishing villages. Here, we visit the Ósvör Maritime Museum, a full-scale replica of a 19th-century fishing outpost. With turf-roofed huts, drying racks, and traditional rowboats, this open-air museum offers a vivid glimpse into the harsh but resilient life of early Icelandic fishermen. The ocean views and coastal cliffs add a dramatic backdrop to this step back in time.

Our tour with Jake was wonderful. He was an absolute delight and very knowledgeable about the area, sharing fascinating insights along the way. He took us to a great spot for lunch, drove excellently, and the car was very comfortable. We had an incredible time!

Private transportation was great, beat all the buses . Stopped where ever & when ever we wanted. Took how ever much time we wanted. Guide took us to private view points. She was great.

Wow ! We had an amazing day with Jake! He took us to so many amazing spots and beat the crowds along the way. He made us a reservation at a great lunch spot. Ask to go to the museum and don’t skip the chocolate cake!

We took the Isafjordur and Westfjords Private Day Tour with Valkyrie Tours. Our guide Steffan. was thoughtful with his planning for my family, which included our two teenage children and my parents. Born and raised in Iceland, Steffan was personable and knowledgeable. His bus was roomy, allowing private tours big & small. He carefully curated the perfect day, taking us to Dynjandi Falls, where he personally helped my mom, who is nursing a knee injury, up and down the falls. He was patient, allowing us enough time to visit at our leisure. He took us to all of the Instagram worthy spots, shared some local delicacies, and took us to some of the smaller villages, which we always appreciate. Steffan is so good at his job, that he ended our tour at the top of Bolajfall Mountain, under a double rainbow. Would highly recommend Valkyrie Tours

We walked off our ship and Stephan picked us up for a private tour. The highlights included visiting a gorgeous waterfall, taking a dip in a natural hot spring, exploring a quaint fishing village, and ending with a close up visit with 4 seals on a sandy beach! A truly memorable day! Thank you Valkyrie Tours.
