This is the part where I tell you how awesome we are and all that, but let's better get real shall we?

Ana, Luis and I have done this mountain around 150 times combined. We know it by heart now. This is important because conditions can change up there and fast and it's better to be with someone that knows his way.

We have solid English, something most other companies don't really have, so you'll feel safe knowing that we will understand your needs and concerns.

What about safety? No worries, we are trained paramedics and got your back in case anything happens. But fear not, if you follow our advice you'll be good as gold.

Finally. We bloody love the mountains. You'll be hiking with people that love to be up there and that, just as you, want to have a good time.

What To Expect

Simple, the goal is to get to the summit and enjoy your time while doing so. Awesome scenery and sense of accomplishment certainly help a lot. Now, the technical part. This is a mountaineering experience done in a 5,230 meters (17,160 ft) high mountain. It ranges from intermediate level to advanced level, depending on your shape and acclimatization time. (You can send us an email if you have questions) The mountain can be either an alpine climb (wake up at 3 am and do it entirely) or a day hike. The day hike can be done as long as you are a person who exercises regularly and you can find it amongst our other products. The alpine climb is demanding and requires great strength from your legs and high endurance. You would carry around 10 liters of weight for 12 hours up and down the mountain so you can get an idea. The alpine climb requires the use of crampons and ice axe. We provide a crash course the day before if you've never used them before. Don't let the technical stuff scare you. If you feel you have a shot, give it a go, you'll get the idea of what mountaineering really is, plus having a great time

The company was always very quick to respond to all my questions, and helped me with everything I needed: additional gear, a pick up from Puebla, and flexibility for my friend who didn’t know if she’d be able to hike after the acclimatisation night. Our guide, Chris, was the best we could have wished for: knowledgable, friendly, and funny. He knows lots about the history of Mexico and is happy to share all his knowledge with you.

One of the toughest hike I’ve done in a while. We started at 1am and only got to the summit at 830am. Our guide Cristino took great care of us, helping us set up tents, cooked, and more importantly motivated us even as we felt discouraged halfway. Definitely train up before the hike and crampon experience will be very helpful. Due to the lack of snow and melting glaciers, we had to go down a glacier and climb back up, which made it tougher than I had expected. Wonderful experience overall and I would recommend doing it with this company.

I used Yacana Outdoors to guide me to the summit of Iztaccihuatl. The entire experience was very smooth and easy. Ricardo was great, walked me through the climb and gave me lots of tips beforehand. Ricardo worked with my schedule and set me up with a fantastic guide (Cristino). Yancana picked me up from MC, got me to the mountain and provided all the gear, food and water for a successful climb. I wouldn't have been able to summit with the help of Yancana Outdoors. I would highly recommend these guys! Thank you!

I had a fantastic time with my guide, Mauricio. He was able to sense not only my limitations but also to help me achieve something I could be proud of. We were not able to Summit due to my physical condition but I left with new personal records, memories and amazing photos.

Our guide Jose Luis is wonderful. Professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. He even went out of his way so that I can watch the World Cup final before we went into the mountain. Highly recommend!!!

A journey to the most amazing place, with two of your best friends, shout out to Aline (who also found my phone after it sliding down the mountain 😂📱) and Señor Pollo aka Señor Oreo aka Juan Carlos or Charlie 😂. The guides made the trip spectacular, attentive, fun, experience, kind, funny. It was more than I probably ever planned or hoped for. In addition, the company was amazing to plan with, it was all very last minute for me and they made every step seamless and enjoyable. Never felt rushed, pressured or uncomfortable - both in booking and on the trail. As far as the mountain itself, or volcano, it is extremely intense. I made it to 5000m, and then decided to head back down. Not due to any weather, or inability, but I reached my limit for that time, my energy was very low. I would highly recommend to acclimate to the elevation prior to attempt in the summit. But otherwise had an amazing time, I'll be back and finish another time. With the same tour company of course!

Yacana made my assent unforgettable. It's a complicated and long walk. However, the guides of Yacana made it enjoyable. The equipment I was rented was in excellent condition. The routes we mapped out for the up and down were efficient and minimized risk. In addition, feeding and dressing tips helped me enjoy the tour.
