What To Expect
Minneriya National Park
Minneriya National Park is a protected wildlife area in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province.Renowned for its seasonal elephant gatherings and rich biodiversity, it forms part of the island’s “cultural triangle” of heritage and nature destinations. The park is a key site for wildlife tourism and ecological conservation in the dry zone. Location: North Central Province, Sri Lanka Established: 1997 Area: 8,889 hectares (34.3 square miles) Primary feature: Minneriya Tank (ancient reservoir) Best known for: “The Gathering” of Asian elephants
Kaudulla National Park
The park is best known for its Asian elephants. During the dry season, hundreds of elephants gather around the Kaudulla Tank (reservoir), creating a spectacular wildlife event. Other animals you can see include: Deer (spotted deer, sambar) Wild boar Sloth bears (rare) Leopards (very rare sightings) Monkeys such as toque macaques and gray langurs

5.00Great safari in Hurulu Park. Organized by Sanju, who was a safe driver, very polite, and happy to answer questions and very respectful towards the animals. Saw lots of elephants and he pointed also other ones out. Highly recommended!
