Jewel Cave
Fully-guided tours showcase the breathtaking magnitude of Jewel Cave. You will see towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and intricate decorations stretching and suspended across the ceiling, like vines and dancing cobwebs. From stalagmites to flowstone, shawls, helictites and even ‘cave coral’; this cave tour reveals the most amazing variety of cave formations or ‘speleothems’. Once you see the ‘natural entrance’ to this cave, the means of entry for the intrepid cave explorers of the 1950’s, you will appreciate the incredible task they faced in opening up this spectacular cave to the public. You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct ‘Tasmanian Tigers’ that fell into the cave and met a dark and lonely fate. At the end of your tour, your awe-inspiring crystal journey is perfectly complemented with the option of the self-guided ‘Karri Walk’ through the towering forest giants, and viewing the ‘natural entrance’ from above the cave. The Jewel Cave Centre is complete with interpretive area, retail and café facilities.

A world-class experience. Fantastic “natural wonder” and guided tour A1 in every way. Recommend this to everyone - guess you won’t know what you’ve missed if you don’t do it but, trust me, you’ll be sorry if you don’t do it. Booking in is essential.

What a fantastic tour. Tour guide was so knowledgeable and answered all questions asked. There are 500 steps but very doable as they are well spaced throughout. Magical light show and when they turn the lights out, it’s surreal.

The tour down into the cave has a lot of stairs and higher than normal levels of CO2. The deepest point underground is about 42m

The almost hour-long tour through the cave was very worth it. Murray gave the right amount of information with a good dose of humor, it was very interesting and we would recommend the tour. Thank you very much again!

We thoroughly enjoyed a brilliant cave tour. Simply the largest cave we’ve ever been in. Great tour worth every dollar.

What a amazing cave the tour guide Riley was knowledgeable and very informative the caves themselves were brilliant and beautiful it was well worth the admission fee for the hour long tour, our tour group was around about the 30 mark which was a good size. The only thing I would warn people about and by the way so does the tour guide is that you have 500 stairs to negotiate going into the cave wasn’t all that bad coming back up takes a fair bit out of you( but I am 71 years old. I would definitely recommend this experience
