Jewel Cave
Fully-guided tours showcase the breathtaking magnitude of Jewel Cave. You will see towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and intricate decorations stretching and suspended across the ceiling, like vines and dancing cobwebs. From stalagmites to flowstone, shawls, helictites and even ‘cave coral’; this cave tour reveals the most amazing variety of cave formations or ‘speleothems’. Once you see the ‘natural entrance’ to this cave, the means of entry for the intrepid cave explorers of the 1950’s, you will appreciate the incredible task they faced in opening up this spectacular cave to the public. You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct ‘Tasmanian Tigers’ that fell into the cave and met a dark and lonely fate. At the end of your tour, your awe-inspiring crystal journey is perfectly complemented with the option of the self-guided ‘Karri Walk’ through the towering forest giants, and viewing the ‘natural entrance’ from above the cave. The Jewel Cave Centre is complete with interpretive area, retail and café facilities.

We did the 1 hour long tour of the cave and it was exceptional. The natural beauty of the caves was amazing. The platforms, walkways and stair blend in well and provide an accessable experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand

Riley was our guide his explanations of the cave and its history were great he was very informative but occasionally interjected with a little humour. The experience when the lights were turned out was formidable something to remember. The whole visit was well worth it and Riley made it even more memorable. Would highly recommend it.

This is an amazing experience and the guide was very knowledgeable and very informative and enthusiastic about her job. This is the best cave I have ever visited and in my opinion once you’ve visited this cave a lot of the others fade into significance.

We really enjoyed our tour of these caves. The guide was excellent and very informative. Among the fascinating insights was that tree roots from above stretch 60 m through the ground to appear within the caves. They are definitely worth a visit.

Jewel Cave was absolutely stunning! The formations inside are incredible and much bigger than I expected. Our guide was friendly and explained everything really well. The cave is cool inside, so bring a jacket and wear comfy shoes. The tour was easy to follow and great for all ages. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Margaret River or Augusta area!

Thanks to Peter for a very informative tour, with a bit of humour thrown in. It certainly is another world in the cave operating on a different time frame, in slow motion.

Really interesting cave with some phenomenal formations. Our guide was witty and knowledgeable and provided an informative tour which captured the natural phenomena and local history of the cave. There are 250 steps down that you have to come back up and they are well lit, dry and accompanied by firm rails. The tour moves at a sensible pace allowing breaks between sets of steps. There is catering and well kept washrooms at the caves too making it a great stop when in the area. Highly recommended.

A fantastic experience lead by our informative and witty guide. Each section of the cave was presented and discussed in a way for quite a range of people and diverse backgrounds could understand and appreciate.
