This tour was one of our favourite days spent in Fiji. The guides are all awesome and make the day very enjoyable. Loved everything about our day and would highly recommend. We went in the wet season (March) so the river looked dirty due to recent rain but we still loved it. We were staying in Port Denarau and even with the longer travel time this tour was one of our favourites! If we return to Fiji we will do this tour again.

This is a must-do excursion in Fiji. We stayed on Denaru Island so the van ride was a bit far, 1.5hours one way but well worth the time. The Fijian village people are so kind, welcoming, and very interesting to learn about their village, customs and culture. The waterfall is beautiful. Mostly retired people in our party and we manged the long boats, short hike to the falls, and swimming. Great lunch cooked Lovo-style and by the villagers.

The best experience of the Fijian culture! From the long boat ride, to the raft ride, a waterfall swim, a sacred ceremony, a snake dance and a fabulous Fijian lunch! I would highly recommend this excursion!

An incredible Fijian experience including a wooden canoe trip up river & through rapids to an almost hidden waterfall - ideal to cool off in the pool below. Coming back down was partly by canoe & partly bamboo raft when Captain Issac gave us some insight into his village way of life both past and present. The visit to his village included a delicious traditional Fijian lunch (much better than resort food 😋) & then displays of traditional dances, culture & artwork expertly led by Nem. A must do excursion when visiting Fiji

All around a fantastic experience. Everything was so amazing for the warm greeting, to the farewell. The boat tour was incredible with the stunning scenery and the waterfall was incredible to cool off in on a sweltering day. Back in the village the food was fantastic, prepared so well along with the cultural learnings and just learning more around another way. The tour organisers and operators were so warm and friendly and incredibly passionate.

This tour was great! They originally messaged me late the night before to cancel, saying I was the only one booked which was really annoying, but then they called back early the next morning to say a few more people had joined and we could proceed if I wanted. Peter picked me up from my hotel and we drove on our own for about an hour before reaching the next pick-up spot. There was one more pick up after that but found out the couple had actually rescheduled, so it ended up being just the two of us on the tour! Once we arrived in the village, we were turned over to Isaac who led the rest of the tour. He took us out on a motorized boat down the Navua River and provided commentary along the way. There was a short hike to the waterfall where we were able to swim. Then we went back to the boat, transferred to the bamboo raft for a bit (a very cool experience!), and then back to the motorized boat to return to the village. The whole boat ride was beautiful with multiple waterfalls to be seen along the way. Once back in the village, we could change into dry clothes before being treated to traditional dances, a kava ceremony, and lovo lunch. Isaac explained everything very well, and we got to participate, too. It was all very entertaining, but I also felt honored that they were willing to host us in their home and share their traditions with us. I was there the last day of school break and Isaac's children were adorable- especially Deborah who sat with me for a bit and held my hand while we were walking around the village. The children also participated in the ceremony and songs- it was nice to see how they are learning the traditional ways and culture at a young age (Deborah is 3). I learned so much about the village and history (including their cannibalistic past!). Peter drove me back to my hotel after we learned more about the importance of coconuts (used for more than just food and drink), weaving, and other art they practice (the ceremonial house was painted by Isaac's mother). The overall travel time was about 6 hours, round trip, so it's quite a ways from Nadi, but it was worth it! If you want to do something different and not just have another beach day, book this trip! It was perfect!

Worth the 3 hours there and back from Nadi. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. The boat trip, waterfall, rafting, lunch, basket-making were all excellent. Opportunity for massage and shopping good too.

Tour guide absolutely hated Indian, brown skinned people. We were treated very poorly. Though the driver, boat man and others were helpful. We won't recommend any person of Indian origin or even with Indian skin color to go for this tour. The tour guide even gave small gifts to white skinned people at the end and we were just ignored. At least happy that we could make it back to our hotel safely. This was definitely a mis-adventure, wastage of money and a whole day lost. The tour guide's hatred is so strong, that he was even cursing a variety of bird, calling them of Indian origin that apparently broke other bird's nests!!!!

A lengthy trip from Denarau but the scenery along the coast is so beautiful it goes by quickly. Our guide/host was fantastic. He was kind, approachable and extremely funny and our kids loved him. He spoke from the heart and he is very passionate about preserving Fijian culture and traditional methods. The cruise up the river was picture perfect. The waterfall swim is definitely cold but you’d regret not doing it! The whole day was absolutely perfect and a good way to squeeze in a lot of sight seeing, culture and local food into the one day. We couldn’t recommend enough!
