After being picked up from your hotel you’ll travel to the adventure capital district of Fiji, Pacific Harbor/Navua to begin a journey to a world away from the cares of modern living. Take a cruise up the Navua river, past villages, farmlands, pristine tropical rainforests, deep gorges/canyons, meandering rapids and numerous cascading waterfalls. Stop for a refreshing swim in Navua Rivers biggest waterfall before leisurely ride on the unsinkable "HMS BILIBILI" (bamboo raft) a reenactment of centuries old only means of transportation down river. A Fijian warrior will escort you to the village meeting house to experience age-old customs and traditions with a customary welcome yaqona (kava) ceremony.. This sacred ceremony is only performed to visiting high chiefs or very important people. Learn the History of the village established by lone Englishman John Humphrey Danford. Cultural dances by the men and women of the village, tuck into your hearty Fiji buffet "Lovo" Lunch.

    The guide was hilarious 😂 the waterfall was refreshing and easy to get to. Rapids in the canoe was pretty along the river and very safe. Lunch was tasty especially the pumpkin. Demonstrated easy way to open a coconut and made a basket from a large leaf. Ceremony was enjoyable to watch.

    Highly knowledgeable guide~very caring about Figi and the culture. Informative and fun. Enjoyable motorized riverboat ride to waterfall, careful with all guests needs, authentic lunch and sharing of cultural rituals.

    Firstly, this tour company went above and beyond. I had missed the tour on the day of my booking. They reached out proactively to move me out to the following day. The trip was amazing. Excellent guide, spectacular nature, a lot of culture, delicious lunch, everything was perfect. It had rained heavy the previous night and the tour was nearly cancelled. It rained even as we went on the boat. The river ran fast. This is a heavy rain region of Fiji. So, it helps if you go knowing these facts. If you want a sunny, easy day... this tour is probably not it. But if you want to experience something spectacular even if there is a bit of discomfort, then go for it.

    What a phenomenally, entertaining and cultural experience. Malichi was an awesome driver and where do I begin with Nim. He was the ultimate host imparting knowledge, traditions, his people, crafts and food. Fiji TV captured his love of country while we listened. All the men and women in the village had big, beautiful hearts so no one complained about the ride there and back. Nim made us all part of his family. We highly recommend this trip for everyone coming to Fiji. Get immersed!!!

    It is a three hour drive from Denarau but it is ssooo worth it!! The tour leader at the river/village was extremely professional and went out of his way to keep us safe and to ensure an enjoyable experience. His passion for his Fijian heritage was heart-warming. He even dived into the river to retrieve a young boy's hat!!! The bamboo rafting was an experience in itself!! The traditional food was delicious and all the cultural aspects were fantastic. Highly recommend!
