What To Expect

Visit the Chokhelao garden which sits at the foot of the Mehrangarh Fort. This over two hundred year old garden has recently been restored, complete with the scents, sounds and textures of a garden of eighteenth century Marwar. The garden today, as in the past, is truly a celebration of nature as it captures the changing colors of the seasons in the upper terrace of flower beds. It is equally magical for night viewing when the Mehtab Bagh or moonlight garden laid out in the lower terrace comes alive with the white flowers of chandni (Tabernaemontana coronaria) and the sweet smelling kamini (Maurya exotia). While paintings capture the activities in the garden in the form of music and dance performances in pavilions and terraces within the garden, romantic interludes in the shade of trees of the orchard area, holding durbans on platform under colourful awnings, the garden today houses a restaurant in the upper

Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh Fort stands a hundred feet in splendor on a perpendicular cliff, four hundred feet above the sky line of Jodhpur. Burnished red sand stone, imposing, invincible and yet with a strange haunting beauty that beckons . Much has been written about the Citadel of the Sun, for truly, it is one of the most impressive in all Rajasthan. So colossal are its proportions that Rudyard Kipling called it “ the work of giants”. Today, it is acknowledged as one of the best preserved fort in India.

We had Prabhat as a guide. He was patient in answering all our questions and made sure we caught the best bits of this beautiful fort and the old city. He left us wanting more and we cannot wait to come back and explore more of Jodhpur and its neighbouring areas.

We visited with a family of 9 including 2 senior citizens and one teen. The trip was absolutely amazing and Deepak made excellent arrangements - from airport pickup/dropoff, all the main Jodhpur attractions, and excellent English/hindi speaking guides who knew the city and culture inside and out. He was always punctual and communicative, and took extra care with the elders to ensure they had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend their trips/services if you are visiting Jodhpur. Thank you!!

Our experience with Deepak Tours was a memorable one. His fabulous and knowledgeable guide Mr. Prabhat took us through the Jodhpur Blue City Walking Tour and Mehrangarh Fort. He being the native of Jodhpur City, was able to explain us even the minute details of the historic and architectural design of fort. He walked with us with utmost patience and did not hurry at unlike other guides. We had the best Samosa, Mirchi Vada, Pyaz Kachori and of course the famous Makhaniya Lassi. He even took us to the old city Chai and Gossip adda of Men. Very well spent day in Jodhpur with Mr. Prabhat with all the comfort and information loaded tour.

Deepak’s tour was the highlight of our visit to Jodhpur because he showed us so many fascinating areas, historical and local we never would have found ourselves. Deepak felt more like a friend welcoming us to his home than just a tour guide. His love of Jodhpur and its rich history was very evident. We ate the best Samosa ever! Saw the fort from the different sides of the city. Walking with Deepak the narrow streets winding through the blue city was so interesting. Highly recommend.
You cannot get a better tour and planning experience!

From introductions to goodbyes, the experience with Deepak in Jodhpur was second-to-none. The entertaining walking tour culminated with a delicious samosa and lassi. He was extremely helpful in organising our onward transportation to Jaisalmer. Nothing is free of course. But his rates are highly competitive and in keeping with our expectations. Don’t bother with rest.. Deepak Tour and Transport was tip-top.

We had a phenomenal day with Deepak. The hotel pickup was very easy, great Tuk Tuk ride to the start of the tour. The rest is walking, YOU MUST WALK. you cannot see Jodhpur in a vehicle or on a Tuk Tuk. Deepak brought us to great places to see, beautiful buildings, great photos, amazing samosa, chai, etc. the best tour in Jodhpur hands down. A must do.
