Jvari Church

The monastery built in 6th century. The name "Jvari" is a Georgian word and means "cross". The church has a shape of the cross and this is how it was called Jvari. There is an amazing view on Mtkvari & Aragvi rivers and Mtskheta from the monastery.

We had the most amazing views! We incorporated visiting Chronicles of Georgia before visiting Jvari Monastery & Mtskheta and it was worthwhile. It is also a cheap place to buy souvenirs, I forgot his name but he has this buy 1 get 1 cheap magnetic 🧲 ref displays to buy from. We met a smiley old local lady that was happy we bought fresh pomegranate juice. You can experience wine ice cream here to at the top of a hill.
