Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino
The St. George’s Monastery of St. Nino, also called the Bodbe Monastery, is one of the most important religious sites in Kakheti region. Now, there is a nunnery where the monastery used to be along with the St. George Cathedral, part of the monastery, holds the remains of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia.

2.00We booked this private tour through Temo - a representative of “ Holiday.me “ We were picked up at 10am and reached the Bodbe monastery after nearly 2 hours.The view from the monastery is nice but the monastery is under renovation. Later we drove to see the 18th century defence wall and tower. We then drove to Signagi the city of love having nice architecture and 18th century houses. Our driver and guide, Shoto did not provide us any information on the tour, Signagi city or the Museum. We drove to Kakheti to visi a wine storage and bottling plant. Temo had agreed to show the wine making process in this tour which we found later that it could be seen only in autumn. Therefore, we just had degustation which we could have experienced in Tbilisi instead of traveling so long!!! During this visit we were given no explanation on the history and Culture of Georgia relevant to these places.

5.00Going to Kakheti is an extraordinary journey. We made the transfer in our own car. I can recommend this car as a great means of transportation for tourists.You can take advantage of this offer. We visited Tsinandali- estate of Ilya Chavchavadze. It's a fabulous place. To be there is to take with you extraordinary experiences.Next visited Bodbe and Signaki. In Signaki, the Nico Pirosmani Museum. The journey was beautiful. And back to Tbilisi they returned in a comfortable car, with wonderful experiences.
