5.00Says was absolutely brilliant and served us a perfect day. We toured two Geisha neighborhoods, the Samurai neighborhood and the Castle Garden. She spoke excellent English and provided in depth knowledge and history. I highly recommend her as a guide!

5.00Ian showed our group of 2 couples around Kanazawa for a day and a half. He was excellent at placing sites and information and historical context and pointing out small details, such as small water jets used to clear snow in winter, that made the city come to life. It has been one of the most informative experiences we’ve had in our 3 weeks in Japan.

5.00We had such a great day with Sachiko in Kanazawa! She included all of the highlights and I feel like we got a great experience. My son loved the Ninja museum! Sachiko is also a great photographer and put together a photo album for us that captured candid moments throughout the day. Couldn’t have asked for more!

5.00Our guide, Saya, spoke English well and was very punctual. She took in our opinions about what we wanted to see and put together a great itinerary. She made sure we went at our own pace and still had enough time to see everything on our list. She was super knowledgeable about the area since she is a local. We learned all about the history of the samurai district and geisha districts. We also learned about the beautiful garden which we had previously visited over a decade ago. We also visited the crafts museum. Saya was engaging and friendly. My tween was even paying attention to the history. If we had more time in the city, I would have loved to have her show us around the shrines and temples as well.

5.00A great way to see Kanazawa. I highly recommend this tour. Yoshiko was our tour guide. She is wonderful. We learned a lot about the culture and history of the area and Japan as she guided us through the local sites. Yoshiko answered all our questions with patience and deep knowledge.

5.00We (x3) had a great day out with Sachiko. Her English was very good. She was attentive and informative. We started from our hotel walking past Kanazawa Castle (under renovation)! Then we walked through Kenrokuen Garden, which was very crowded, but so much better with Sachiko’s local knowledge…After stopping for drinks (not included) we got a taxi to a lacquer artisan’s house to see him at work…fascinating! We then visited an ENTSUKE gold leaf shop and onto lunch at a ‘Shogun Burgers’. After lunch we walked around Higashi Chaya District. (Again, construction work & scaffolding distracted from the photogenic experience). We finished off visiting a Kaga yuzen dyeing workshop (in the ‘nightlife district’)? Upstairs here we were shown round a traditional Tea Ceremony floor (180 years old?). This was a highlight! Thank you so much for a very enjoyable day out in Kanazawa! 🥰

5.00Saya made this experience really easy, fun, and interesting. She stopped and explained the stories and background of each place in Kanazawa. If it wasn’t for the guide we would have never seen the tea rooms of both districts!
