Explore the Geisha districts after dark, hear the tales of what actually went on in this district during the Edo period. Our professionally guided tour will take you through the 2 most beautiful Geisha districts of Kanazawa and then we'll sit down with fellow travellers to a full course traditional meal and drinks(included in tour price).

The tour duration is 2.5 hours. You will get the chance to explore the cultural background of these unique districts and get to sample some of the local dishes available in this area. Our night tour groups are small(usually 3 - 8 people) and include a dedicated professional guide to explain the locations and the dishes.

Meet at our starting point beside the Asanogawa River. Get to know your group for the night. You will then embark on a guided stroll through the first Geisha district.

My wife fell ill the morning of the scheduled tour. I called and asked if they would allow us to switch to the next day. They said they could not because it was the busy season, but it’s hard for me to believe they somehow could not add two extra people who were fully paid up. It seems pretty heartless to not accommodate a request due to an illness, but it is what it is.

Wonderful experience tonight walking around the geisha area of Kanazawa. Our guide Kenzo was a local who had a great knowledge and understanding of the city and culture. The local restaurant was excellent and we would highly recommend both Kenzo and this tour.

We so enjoyed this evening tour of two of Kanazawa ‘s Geisha Districts. Saya was a delightful guide, so knowledgeable and pleasant! We learned so much about the history of the Geisha and this area. We were able to choose from a variety of delicious Japanese dishes which cooked at our table, accompanied by a variety of traditional side dishes and drinks. Saya explained each dish and drink and how to enjoy them. I would highly recommend this tour.

We did a great walking night tour with Saya through two geisha districts and had a really fun/tasty meal. We also did a daytime walking tour of Kanazawa (including some of the same location) and would say it was definitely worth doing the night tour as well both to experience the difference in vibe with fewer people around and also because the lighting is beautiful and striking in the areas we visited. We had a meal at a restaurant that specialized in dashi and was, we have to admit, way more hip than we would've considered going to on our own. So glad Saya took us because we would have never found this place. The food was great and the entire experience was so cool. Thanks Saya! We had a wonderful time!

Our guide Saya was fantastic, very knowledgeable, kept things interesting and spoke fantastic English. The dinner included unlimited drinks and was a delicious course based dinner. The other couple on our tour was wonderful as well. Felt less like a tour and more like a night out with friends! Thanks Saya! PS, due to the AWS outage, we couldn’t access or tickets or tour information (trip advisor was down, app and browser), so thankfully Mike at Kanazawa tours was able to help us. What a nice dude!

We booked this tour just a couple of days ago. Turned out we were the only ones so we had a private tour with Ian. Really enjoyed it as we were shown round the geisha area and then went on to a local restaurant. We even saw a group of geishas which is apparently very rare. Ian explained about the training and then how they entertain their customers which was fascinating. The meal was in a lovely authentic Japanese restaurant, where we could sit comfortably while looking as if we were seated on the floor. We cooked the chicken and veg in our own pots, then added rice to finish the broth. This was then followed by a little panacotta. It was all really tasty. A tour we’d recommend.
