We are the only kayak rental company right next to the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Preserve. This paddling area is hands down one of the best family ecotours experiences to be had on the islands of the OBX. A beginner friendly environment explores a calm, glassy creek that meanders through the natural glory of one of North Carolina’s largest track of deciduous maritime forest habitat.
We have a flotilla of sit in and sit on top kayaks for your paddling pleasure. We also have specialty fishing kayaks and sea kayaks for the Hard Core paddler.

What To Expect
Rent a single or double kayak for 2 hours at our location at 6150 North Croatan HWY. This on site kayak rental is valid for 2 hours to explore the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Preserve from our dock. We have a flotilla of sit in and sit on top kayaks for your paddling pleasure. We also have specialty fishing kayaks and sea kayaks for the Hard Core paddler. Double Kayak: Our Double Kayaks hold two people. If you child is under 12 they must ride in a double kayak with an adult.

1.00Kitty Hawk kayak was unreasonable hiding behind their “cancellation “ policy in refusing to allow me to switch to a different tour when I explained I thought I signed up for the tour and not rental. Basically they just stole money.

1.00We had a confirmed reservation at 11:30am. We get there at 11:20am and the business is locked up. Walked around the building to make sure they weren’t back there. No staff in sight. I called the number and got a voicemail, then I got a text asking if they could call later… called the customer service and they tried to reach out to the business with no success. Finally got a staff member on the phone, he stated he had to run out real quick but that the life vests, paddles and kayaks were out back and to help ourselves, and gave us directions to go down to the second bridge and back. The vests were just laying out on a chair, moldy and dirty. The kayaks were not in much better shape. We completed our 2 hour kayak adventure and got back, still no staff to be found. Not at all what we expected but we made the best of our self service adventure.

1.00We arrived a little early fearing to be late. The owner never showed up, we had to call the business to find out what was going on. No one ever showed up to show us how to proceed. This is a sorry way to do business and we left feeling very uncomfortable and highly disappointed. I would never recommend this service and want my money back!!!

5.00My family had a relaxing time kayaking on a beautiful day. We were able to go around 4 miles within our two hour self-guided tour, with all of us going at their own pace. Lots of turtles and two bridges for nice photo ops.
