Search for whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, puffins, and many other types of marine birds as you cruise the the protected waters of Resurrection Bay on this 4 hour cruise. Rather than following a set route, this cruise travels to the best whale and wildlife viewing areas that day based on reports from other vessels. The experienced captains will explore the area’s wildlife hot spots to maximize your chances of viewing whales and other wildlife. You'll experience up-close encounters with wildlife as the ship cruises by massive bird rookeries and sea lion colonies, stopping along the route to view passing whales and otters. Peak season for whale watching is June through mid-August.

You may or may not see a whale and that’s the chance you’ve got to take. BUT you will definitely see other sea life such as otters, seals, puffins, etc. We were lucky and saw a humpback whale. If I had one improvement to make, I’d suggest a rule at the beginning of the tour that where you are assigned seating is your “home base” for the duration of the tour. Some people moved around after we departed taking others’ spots while they were out watching wildlife. Seems silly to have to police adults about being respectful, but clearly there needs to be that rule. Otherwise a great crew focused on our safety and to finding wildlife.
