Khor Virap
Although there are various historical landmarks in Armenia, the oldest and most well-known is probably the Biblical Mount Ararat. This is why our tour promises a spectacular view from the closest spot possible. Khor Virap monastery is located about an hour’s drive away from the capital Yerevan, and offers an amazing view of Armenia’s defining symbol – the majestic Ararat. “Khor Virap” translates as “deep dungeon”, and was built of the place of the former royal prison, located on the historical site of Artashat. It was this prison in which they kept Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, for a whole 13 years. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that this place is one of the most sacred spots for Armenians around the world. Likewise, it’s also the closest point to the Mount Ararat from Armenia; very often this spot becomes the number 1 reason to visit our country!
Noravank Monastery
Another place that can’t be missed is Noravank. It is one of the gems of medieval Armenian architecture, nestled high among the stunning brick-red cliffs in the end of the Gnishik Canyon. Here you will see the one and only depiction of God the Father in Armenia, which is just as astonishing as the face of Jesus Christ that appeared on the dome of the Church’s narthex. Built by Orbelian noblemen, it stands out among our churches as the sepulcher of this noble family, making it unique since it was absolutely prohibited to bury people inside a church since the 5th century.

We took different tours with other companies too but Yerani travel was the best. Clean vehicle, friendly & knowledgable tour leaders that also tried to make us bond as a group. I recommend this tour agency for a great visit to this spectacular country. 5 stars to Nectar, our tour guide for today!

It was a well organised tour. The guide was amazing: his knowledge plus his way of sharing it in a fun and interesting way. I enjoyed it 100%.

Nice experience, but spending so many hours on the bus would need a more comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle. Good and capable driving, and very nice places. Tasting is avoidable, except if you are not over-lovers of wine.

Great Driver, Great Guide, Interesting History and Archaelogy, the guide mentioned the History Museum in Republic Square, Yerevan. I've been there. I enjoyed the walking but I banged my head on a low doorway. If you are tall be careful on this tour. The ancient churches were not designed for tall people. The Wine was nice but to be honest I prefer Spirits to wine. My favourite wines on this trip are the semi smooth wine and the pomegranate ones. The Garden out back was nice with the grape vines, fruit trees and the rabbits. We stopped look at Storks but at the second historical village stop I saw a small black and white bird. I don't think the others saw it.

Our visit to Khor Virap, Noravank was exceptional. The Hin Areni wine factory was very educational, followed by a delicious lunch and tasting of the local wine. Our guide Garen was extremely kind, knowledgeable with a pleasant sense of humour. The views are just out of this world incredible. I’m still in awe of what a beauty Armenia is. Thank you Garen for guiding us through the trip, and making the visit extra special.

Lovely day with seeing the monasteries, beautiful view of the Ararat! Tour guide was in a great mood and answered all our questions. Loved the explanations generally at the monuments. Wine tasting was a very quick thing so be prepared, but the enthusiasm of the owner made it fun and nearly everyone bought some of the pomegranate wine. Bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Very pleasant day.
