Hello, I'm your guide, Grace, a mother of two kids in my mid 40's. I have been in Chiba for about 18 years. I gave birth and raised my kids here. I love this city, and I also love Japanese culture!
This is a tour that will take you back in time to the ancient Japan!
First, you can try on a kimono and take a walk around the garden. You can feel Japan by wearing a kimono and walking around the pond and through the garden with its seasonal flowers.
Then you can experience traditional tea ceremony and Match-green tea. The tea ceremony will also be a moment to experience the culture of the Japanese people.
I traveled a lot and had many wonderful experiences interacting with the local people and experiencing the culture.
The reason I started this job is because I want everyone who travels to Japan to have the same wonderful experiences that I had. Why don't you make wonderful memories with your family or friend!

You will have kimono dressing experience at Shorai-tei, a tea ceremony room by Mihama garden. It is a traditional authentic tea room and the traditional tea ceremony are often held here. We have prepared Kimono and will dress our customers in it. For women, in addition to Kimono, Japanese style of cosplay costumes are also prepared. Men can opt for the Hakama style when choosing a kimono, creating a look reminiscent of traditional samurai attire. After putting on Kimono, you'll stroll around the garden, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings. The customers can also experience Japanese tea ceremony. We will provide you Matcha green tea and traditional Japanese sweets. Matcha green tea is commonly provided in traditional tea ceremonies. It is known for its vibrant color, distinct aroma, and a balanced flavor that blends slight bitterness with sweetness. Tea ceremony sweets are chosen for their seasonal relevance and delicately crafted. ※We'll confirm your reservation after checking the availability of the Tea Room. ※The place where it is served has been changed from Gaihana-tei to Mihama-en as of April 2025.

We had the opportunity to try on Kimono and tea ceremony. The Japanese garden was amazing! The weather was nice and I was very happy to take some nice pictures in my kimono! Thank you very much.

This garden is so beautiful, spacious, and serene. The tea house is looking out into the garden. The experience was even better being able to wear kimono and be guided by the knowledgeable Chihiro. I definitely want to go again!

My husband and I loved this experience! Exceeded our expectations and hope! Grace was the perfect host, historian and interpreter. We selected our kimono & hakama from a variety of options. Ari also assisted. They offered to take lots of photos for us (I could only upload 4) in many backgrounds. Grace led us through the tradition and history of the tea ceremony. Fascinating! Chiemi is the Tea Ceremony Master who performed it so artfully. We drank the tea with accompanied Sakura shaped sweet and a sponge cake called Castilla. I was asked if I’d like to also try making the tea. Grace guided me through the steps. What a most wonderful and beautiful experience to participate in!! We both cherish this as our best tour in Japan in the two weeks we traveled. Thank you ladies for such treasured memories!!
