They do not care about safety of the passengers, no life vest provided or anything except a noodle. Remember it's night, pitch dark and in an ocean, there is no light. One wave and everybody is scattered and they think one or 2 people will save everybody. Jokes.. do not go with this tour. Others have good equipment and safety

Wonderful adventure! Capt Mike did great job and Taco told us all about the mantas. He was great and very informative. Keiki helped with everything else. Water was not too cold, boat ride short and amazing time in the water. Such beautiful majestic creatures.

I travel quite a bit and this was the coolest thing I ever have ever been blessed to experience. The manta rays are so large and they come within an inch of your face many times! They are so magical and it’s breathtaking to see them rolling and flipping around. Taco was great in the water and I felt safe the entire time. Instructions were clear and he was always ready to help if needed but it’s pretty straightforward- float with the assistance of a noodle under your waist or ankles and hold on to the board while being as flat as you can. If you get the opportunity to go with My Kona Adventures you won’t regret it. If you go in the winter months consider renting a wetsuit elsewhere because they only provide a short jacket which might not be enough for some.

Jen, Taco, Rocky, and the crew were awesome. Very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. Made the experience very comfortable and chill. Highly recommend this company and also going later in evening, we saw 5 rays, and every moment was incredible! I’d do again in an instant, I also would have just floated out in water longer as the temp was perfect and water calm. Jen made sure to tell us that and also had wet suit tops which made me more comfortable. Thank you all, definitely book with them!

We got there 40 minutes early as per the website. We parked in the public beach access lot. Street parking is hit and miss. The tour operator said she is trying to get people to arrive earlier. She had sent out instructions where her truck would be parked along the road. It was not hard to find. We booked through TripAdvisor. We paid $10 each to rent a wetsuit jacket when we got there. You need cash or venmo for that. You leave your shoes on the dock. You leave towels and clothes in a container in their truck. Phones, keys, wallets go in the boat in a locked container. They have snorkels for everyone on the boat. The ride out is very short, less than 10 minutes. We went at 9pm at the end of December. Since you aren’t moving much while watching the mantas you get chilly. We all did even with the wetsuit jacket. I definitely recommend getting the jacket. If you aren’t used to wearing and using a snorkel mask, you should try to get used to it before you go. A couple people struggled to just float flat with their face down while holding on to the board handles partly because they submerged their heads so far that water went in the tube. One had to go back to the boat. Thrashing in the water will prevent mantas from getting close. So you want to float flat with you arms mostly straight out while holding on to the floating board. Once everyone was doing that we saw many mantas who visited in groups and came right up within inches many times. Really great experience! Tips can be given in cash on the boat or by venmo at the truck. Definitely recommend doing this activity! Glad we weren’t in the water longer as we were chilly. If you have your own wetsuit I’d recommend bringing it and putting it on after you checkin. The guide wore a full wetsuit.
