Lots of sitting on floor so allow for this although she says you can sit however comfortable. Very tranquil ceremony and she was very kind

The tea ceremony was both, educating and picturesque. First, we were briefly introduced into tea ceremony history and significance, afterwards the host (extremely kawai) demonstrated the perfect professionally held ceremony, and in the end we made out matcha ourselves.

We had a wonderful time at the tea ceremony. We learned so much about the history, culture and importance of the ceremony in Japanese culture. We fully enjoyed drinking the professionals made tea as well as trying it for ourselves. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning and enjoying a tea ceremony.

Wonderful experience -Yuko is definitely a tea expert and so good with explaining history/meaning and instructions -she presented fabulously this beautiful tradition -she is patient, so accommodating, super friendly -We got to watch the tea ceremony and then do it ourselves so got to drink matcha tea twice which many places do not do -And the sweets were beautiful and delicious best we’ve had in kyoto -Facility and tea room was clean and immaculate -We will come back for the sake experience - It was a short walk for us as we stayed near Nijo castle TIP: Google maps will take you to smaller street on the corner - stay on main street and look for green matcha ice cream cone in front
