A newly opened facility offering tea ceremony experiences and sake tasting , and is offering a grand opening discount until September 15th.
It's located just a 5-minute walk from Subway Karasuma Oike Station.
The tea ceremony is a traditional Japanese practice of serving matcha, where every movement, utensil, and space encourages mindfulness and respect for the moment.
*This plan is a group session with other guests.
*All guidance and explanations offered in English.
*To maintain the serene atmosphere, guests with children under 5 years old or those with an interpreter must book a Private Plan. If booked incorrectly under the Shared Plan, participation and refunds will not be possible.
*An optional Uchikake coat-like kimono experience (¥1,500 tax included) is available. Please inform our staff on the day if interested.

What To Expect
You’ll enjoy... 【１】Hands-on Experience Choose a tea bowl and whisk your matcha. By observing and trying the host’s movements, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the meaning behind the tea ceremony. 【２】Two Bowls of Matcha Enjoy two servings - one prepared by the host, and one you whisk by yourself or with a companion. 【３】Traditional Seasonal Japanese Confectionary Delight in beautiful traditional confections from a Kyoto sweet shop with over 100 years of history is included. 【４】Nijiriguchi Our tea room has a Nijiriguchi - a crawl-in entrance that invites guests to leave the outside world behind and step into the heart of the tea ceremony. Chairs are available. Matcha, tea bowls and select items are also available for purchase. *The tea ceremony is conducted in a serene and quiet setting. Entry is allowed from 5 minutes before the start time. Once the session begins, the door will be locked. Even 1 minute late means you cannot join, and no refund will be given. *We also kindly ask that you bring or wear socks during the experience.

5.00She was very knowlegable and explained the history and customs well. A little accent in the English but I could make out what she was saying. My first tea experience and she made me comfortable and allowed me to ask questions. Place is VERY clean and looks new.

5.00This ceremony was a really lovely, calm and peaceful way to start the morning. Everyone in our group was very respectful and our cultural guide Yuki (I hope I am spelling that correctly) was so kind throughout the experience. She helped us understand the tea ceremony culture and history and also brought us strangers together as a group in a shared experience. I’d recommend this to any traveling who likes matcha and wants to learn a bit more about it.

She provided fascinating insights into the preparation of matcha and its cultural significance. The serene atmosphere and beautiful setting with traditional tatami mats enhanced the experience. 5.00The ceremony was lovely. Our host was very kind, explaining the history and elements of the tea ceremony. We were able to enjoy the tea she made, a traditional sweet, and she guided us through making our own. It was an educational and zen experience for our family.

5.00Yuko took us through an hour of calming and fun tea tasting. She explained the history of matcha and led us through a tea ceremony before working with us to make our own tea. It was a wonderful experience and would recommend everyone give his experience a try while you are in kyoto

5.00On our honeymoon in Japan, one experience we didn’t want to miss was the tea ceremony. It was a really beautiful and interesting experience at times hypnotic. Our guide explained the ceremony well and then had us make our own tea. Experience that I recommend for those who want to immerse themselves in Japanese culture
