I visited on April 8th. We had a very fun and valuable experience! I was the only Japanese, and the other seven or eight were all foreigners. The explanations were basically in English, but it was very helpful to have a staff explaining in Japanese for me. They said they were new and nervous, but I was impressed by how hard they explained it and I hope they feel confident because it was easy to understand! I'd like to ask him again when he's here. The trial-cutting experience was really valuable, and there was an indescribable exhilaration when it cut off quickly under the easy-to-understand guidance of the master. I can’t forget the feeling of concentrating when I do the cutting action, and since I came back to Tokyo I have started researching the dojo. lol Hospitality is great and I would recommend it to my friends Thank you for your time.

Great experience, highly recommended! It is not the typical touristy experience, rather a more traditional one.

Awesome, genuine experience! The staff provided thorough explanations of samurai history in Japanese, translated by other fluent staff. It was great to learn about the culture and history before the live demonstrations, instruction, and sword-wielding itself. The staff are polite, kind, and passionate. Would highly recommend supporting this experience and gaining a greater appreciation of this aspect of Japanese culture. The staff also take high quality photos and send them out automatically.

This experience was very professional, really interesting but also exciting and informative. All guides were knowledgeable and the full English translations from the Japanese experts was extremely helpful. I would recommend this as a must do in kyoto. Certainly my most memorable activity i booked.

5his was a great interesting experience. You get to dress up in traditional Samurai clothing, get a bit of history, experience a bit of zen meditation and then get to practice a bit with a wood training sword, then try cutting a block of something, maybe foam? With a real training sword. Then you get to briefly and carefully hold real historical swords. It's a pretty fun, short experience, great for photos.

We did this samurai experience together with our kids 7 and 9 and all of us had an amazing time while hearing the history of samurai while being inside of the real samurai house. We experienced the zen meditation and the use of katanas. Then Holding the real, around 600 years old, katana was exceptional as well. Thank you so much. I would recommend this over other samurai experience which we tried before as well. Small groups and not mass tourist experience was what we were looking for and it exceeded our expectation.
