St. Vincent’s La Soufrière rises majestically to over 4,000 feet and last erupted in April 2021. A tour to La Soufrière Volcano takes you along the picturesque windward coast of St. Vincent, through banana and coconut plantations to where the foot trail begins. This trail leads you along steep volcanic ridges, verdant with bamboo and other tropical trees. This is a day’s journey for energetic hikers, who should leave early in the morning, as the ascent to the crater is about 3 ¼ miles, but is well worth it. The expedition can continue down the west side trail and terminate 10 or 12 miles on, in Chateaublair on the leeward (west) side.

We had a great time! This was a highlight of our trip to SVG. We were picked up and dropped off directly at Sandals. They provided fruit, snacks, water , and rum punch. The only additional expense was the $5 per person admission fee at the entrance of the hike. Barris and John both did an excellent job of showing us not only the volcano but the local culture and highlights. Would definitely recommend.

It was a difficult hike but tall man( trail guide) and our driver were absolutely great and had great fruit snacks, juice and rum to replenish our energies. Gets windy next to the volcano, might be good idea to wear a light jacket. Would definitely recommend if visiting St. Vincent :)

It was described as “moderate difficulty” which was accurate. The Guide (John) was amazing, so knowledgeable and wise. We absolutely loved the hike, it was a highlight of our year, never mind the 1 week holiday!

This company was top notch in service. The transportation was on time, the driver did a great job of navigating the at times tricky Vinci roads, and the guides were great. We had Kevin who was very knowledgeable about the island and the local flora and fauna. I was not able to finish the hike (it’s very steep at the end! ) but the guide made clear the group would only go as fast as the slowest hiker which I appreciated. The snacks and drinks provided were great and everyone was very friendly and helpful with local recommendations. Highly recommend this tour company!

Kevin was an excellent driver and had lots of good information to share about St. Vincent. We even stopped at a local beach, which meant parking in a locals backyard. Our hiking guide was John. He did this hike 140 times last year and was a wealth of information about the plants and volcanoes. Overall, a difficult hike for the average person, but very worth it!

We were all presented with a walking stick before the hike. The hike up La Soufriere volcano with our guide and driver was good, we even passed Lava man on the way! The weather was a bit damp, which unfortunately impinged on views into the crater. Every so often we were able to see in and view the lake due to the wind, which was remarkably blustery on the ridge. After snacks a plenty, we all made our way back down and celebrated with some rum punch.

After setting out on a picturesque coach ride to the start of the hike , I encountered a beautiful and lush trail as I trekked to the summit of the volcano. Our guide on the day was very knowledgeable and provided the group with a wide history of all that transpired in and around the volcano over the years. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in doing the hike and I would return as well. 10/10.

Amazing to see this volcano. Nice hiking and very nice guiding. However, the driver drove very fast on the way there but it seems to be so after several other taxi trips.

Top notch experience from TopDawg Tours! Great communication, first off. Communicated directly via WhatsApp, answered questions promptly. Driver, Kevin, was on time, courteous, informative, super cool guy. The drive from the resort to La Soufriere is part of the adventure! From the Sandals resort, its close to 2 hrs, taking you thru various parts of the island, which is interesting with amazing views. Once at La Soufriere, our guide, Thomas, was great. Gave us good information about the volcano, plants, history of the island. We had a lady with us that needed to stop a bit more, and he accommodated with no issue. Held her hand walking her down a slippery part as well. Its a full day experience (8 to 5pm), but completely worth it if coming to St. Vincent. Was really the highlight of my trip.
