It sounds like you're ready for an epic adventure! Those spots are absolutely gorgeous, and you’re right, each one has its own kind of magic. Emerald Lake with its deep green water looks almost unreal, and hiking through Johnston Canyon with the waterfalls has that perfect mix of adventure and natural beauty.
Are you more into exploring on your own, or do you prefer the structure of a tour where everything’s mapped out for you? Both have their perks, but if you’re a bit of a photographer or like to take your time at each spot, solo exploration can be pretty freeing.
What kind of vibes are you hoping to get out of the trip? Are you all about the scenic views, or do you also want to get into some hiking or activities?

We got picked up in Calgary by the Delta Hotel at 8am on June 3, 2026. There are multiple bridges by this hotel, so it was not super clear where the stop was to wait for the tour bus. There are also a number of tour busses that stop at this same area so you really have to figure out which tour company you signed up with. Some of the drivers/guides don't even yell your name to check if you're with them. Some just stand there and you have to go up to them to see if your name is on their list. Which is what I had to do for this trip. The guide got out of his vehicle and just stood there looking at his phone scrolling. A bunch of us came up to him and had to ask if he was part of the tour we signed up for. Once we were all settled inside the vehicle, the guide didn't talk to us, didn't introduce himself, or even tell us where we were going. We made a stop in Canmore and Banff to pick up more passengers. The bus was full, 25 people. The actual tour did not start until 11am. Our driver/guide didn't speak to us until after we made the first washroom break outside of Calgary. There was very minimal commentary/conversation throughout the whole drive. He did not talk much about history or name any sights we saw along the highway. This driver was also driving very fast. Anyway, we got to Lake Louise first at 11am. We spent about 45mins there (not enough time to hike leisurely), you might as well just stay by the lake and don't bother trying to walk anywhere unless you can do it in 15mins or less. Next stop was Moraine Lake. We had 1hr here. Not that much time either. You probably won't have time to rent the canoe due to the long line. They charge $100/hr when we went. Emerald Lake was our next stop. We got 45mins to spend here. Again, not really much time to hike or do anything "relaxing". Getting 15mins at the Natural Bridge was a bit of a joke. Johnston Canyon was at least 1 hour and 30 mins. But again, you won't really make it far unless you hike fast. There's a nice restaurant here, but the service as quite slow, so we didn't get a chance to try it. We didn't end up stopping in Banff Town, I guess we ran out of time. Lunch at Lake Louise Village was comedic. We got 45mins. Barely any time to relax and digest before you're rushed onto the bus. We didn't get back until 8:30pm in Calgary by the Delta Hotel. All in all, you're better off hiring a private driver and take your time going through all these stops. Kalwinder was okay in the end. He opened up a bit, but the start was horrible. I probably won't be taking another trip with Viator. One and done experience for me.

Naveen was very kind, the tours went well. I was a bit disappointed not to have walked around Banff town for shopping, but the day was already well filled.
