  We arranged to spend a day with Chris to travel from Engleberg to Zurich with plenty of sites along the way. We saw traditional glass blowing in a town along Lake Lucerne, we explored the old town of Lucerne and sat along the lake to have a snack between seeing the covered bridge, the lion statue, the chocolate stores and the delicious bakeries. Chris was full of energy and knowledge to share, telling us interesting stories about each place. We also went up to the top of Mt. Rigi and saw the gorgeous view from above. He was very responsive about our wants and needs throughout. His new van is beautiful and comfortable and he is a safe driver. I enthusiastically recommend Chris. From the moment we began planning weeks ago to when he delivered us to our hotel he was exceptionally responsive and detail oriented and a pleasure to spend time with. Thanks Chris!

  Just came back from Switzerland and was amazed by the place and scenery but the highlight by far was the tour with Chris. From before setting off, Chris was attentive and prompt and really gave us confidence that we had something to look forward to and the tour really delivered on that. His knowledge and manner was impeccable and the sites we visited were stunning. Can't recommend Chris enough and hope to go back one day to have another one of Chris' tours. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

  If you're looking for a cookie-cutter tour experience, keep scrolling. But if you want a day that feels like exploring Switzerland with a friend who actually knows where the good stuff is hidden, book Chris from Typically Swiss Tours immediately. This trip, I was a solo female traveler, safety and comfort aren't negotiable for me. Chris understood this from our first video WhatsApp call (yes, we did a pre-tour video chat!! Excellent idea). His genuine, caring demeanor came through instantly, and it only got better from there. I told him on tour day: if I'd had even the slightest reservation, I wouldn't have gotten in the car. Zero hesitations. That's how special Chris is. We lucked out with gorgeous winter weather and clear skies, which made our trip to Rigi absolutely stunning. But honestly? I have more photos of myself laughing than actually looking at the camera; Chris has a knack for capturing the joy of the moment, usually right after giving me a playful nudge to get "the shot." (Mission accomplished, Chris.) What sets Chris apart is his commitment to the personalized experience. I mentioned wanting unique spots, and he delivered: hidden chapels tucked into the rolling hills of Luzern, another with breathtaking views of the lake's backend that I never would've found on my own. Both were absolutely worth the detour and only a portion of the day. Chris also has an uncanny ability to prevent hanger (a critical tour guide skill, if you ask me), lent a steady hand when the ice got questionable, and kept the conversation flowing all day long. We laughed. A lot. Like, my cheeks and face hurt by the end. This was genuinely one of the best experiences... EVER..., and my future return trip to Switzerland, yes, I said it... Will include Chris behind the wheel, a MUST. Do yourself a favor and book Typically Swiss Tours. You won't regret it. Thank you, Chris!

  

  

• Exceptionally Curated Itinerary

  We had a fantastic trip with Chris Wilson as our tour guide. He tailored a 3-day itinerary in Central Switzerland for our group, consisting of two people in their 50s and two in their 80s, considering our different activity levels. Chris provided exceptional service, creating unforgettable experiences, such as assembling Swiss Army Knives and visiting a local glassblowing shop. We journeyed through charming Swiss villages, explored Mt Rigi, Jungfrau and Pilatis. Scenic drives included beautiful views of the Alps, visits to charming Swiss villages and hidden gems. His expertise made our journey seamless, and we evolved into a friendship. • Zurich to Lucerne

  Chris gave us a fantastic full-day tour from Zurich to Lucerne in his van, thoughtfully designed for our group of 4 adults and 3 kids. We only had one full day to see as much as possible, and Chris planned the day perfectly - relaxed yet incredibly efficient. He made sure we covered the key highlights of Lucerne, including the lake and surrounding scenery, without ever feeling rushed. A real highlight was the glass-blowing demonstration at Glasi Hergiswil, which both adults and kids enjoyed. The mountain scenery throughout the day was magnificent, and Chris also brought us to a lovely lunch spot where we could relax and enjoy good food and wine. What stood out was how well he balanced everyone’s needs — adults, kids, timing, comfort — all while sharing insights along the way. Recommended.

  We spend a wonderful day touring beautiful and interesting sites around Lake Lucerne with Chris. He is an extraordinary tour guide. Among many stops we took in the spectacular view atop Stanserhorn . Chris took us to a local cheese production factory where we were warming welcomed and after the factory tour were treated to delicious cheese. We saw live glassblowing production at Glasi Hergiswil that has to be seen to be believed. It was a great day with Chris and I would highly recommend Typically Swiss Tours!

  Had a wonderful day with Chris. He worked extremely hard to curate a very unique day based on some conversation in advance. Comfortable van. Tons of local knowledge.   WOW!!!! Chris absolutely made our trip. After getting off an 11-day Viking cruise we traveled to Lucerne and were lucky enough to get Chris as our private guide. Chris was BY FAR the best travel agent we have ever had. My family and I travel extensively throughout Europe each year and I have to say the 3 days we spent with Chris were extraordinary!! Because of Chris we were able to see more in those 3 days than we did the entire 11 days with Viking. Chris was able to customize the tour for us and show us things that were off the beaten path which made the trip even more special. His relationships with local shops and restaurants (not tourist traps) made our trip even better! We plan to return to Switzerland and travel again with Chris as 3 days were just not enough. Thank you for making our trip amazing and I HIGHLY recommend Chris and his private company. Helena W.

  After several conversations, Chris tailor-made a full day excursion work for four 77-79 year-olds, some of whom have trouble getting around. We were very happy with our cruise of beautiful Lake Lucerne, the train ride to Rigi and the gondola down the mountain. We enjoyed seeing historic points of interest in Lucerne and sampling Swiss cuisine for lunch. Conversation in the car was both informative and fun. Want the best of guides?
