The boat is extremely crowded and although we had great seats—they were on the end, and we had a family of approximately 8, standing smack dab in front of us the whole time because they refused to understand that when you’re one of the last to board, the polite thing to do is to go downstairs to get a seat, or spread out, rather than stand in front of others and ruin their experience. My husband went and said something to the tour operator about it, and he said that it was “perfectly allowed that they stand there!” Why bother putting chairs there where we were then, if you’re just going to allow people to stand right in front of you —literally stood within 1-2 feet in front of us the entire time. Therefore, if we wanted to view anything, we were then forced to stand, despite having stood in line for 45 minutes ahead of time to ensure we got “good seats!” Honestly, all this company cares about is how many they can squeeze on board and take your money for, rather than also providing an enjoyable experience for ALL! Moreover, the majority of the time on the boat is spent waiting to get through the lock from the river to the lake. So, all in all, while the view of f the Chicago skyline from the lake is beautiful as the sun sets, I would suggest finding another company!

Give yourself plenty time to arrive, board the boat and find a good seat close to the railing. We were running a bit late and boarded just a little before departure. Basically standing room only at the time we boarded. The drinking crowd got a little loud during the cruise and were there more for the drinking than enjoying the views. Once we found a niche still enjoyed the event.

Too crowded. Long lines. Great views and narratives. Tour guide was exceptional. Going thru the lock system was a sight in its self.
