In Syabrubesi the trail branches off the main road and hiking northward past a police post we cross a suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi. We turn right at the eastern end of the bridge and then take left climbing to enter the village of old Syabrubesi. The village monastery is in a small stone building at the far end of the village. After a visit to the monastery, we follow the stone paved main street out of town to a bridge over the Langtang Khola. Crossing this bridge we reach a junction from where we continue straight and cross a log bridge for a pleasant walk through trees, side stream and landslide to reach another suspension bridge and waterfall of Doman. Crossing through few settlements and forests with a variety of wildlife such as yellow throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas, Himalayan black bears and birds, we climb a rocky ridge and descend to the river bridges and waterfalls with a small hot spring across the river. Now a long climb in forests takes us to another trail junction, beyond which the trail gently climbs to Bamboo. Beyond bamboo the trail crosses the Dangdung Khola and then climbs past a small landslide to a small suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola. From the northern bank of the Langtang Khola the route climbs alongside a series of waterfalls formed by a jumble of house sized boulders. Crossing the dry forest consisting scrub oaks, cactuses and nettles we climb steeply to a landslide in lower Rimche. Passing by another trail junction in upper Renche, we ascend gently to Changtang, popularly known as Lama Hotel

Climbing through a steep forest of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white and pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang Khola to reach Gumanchok and then we cross a stream and climb steeply to a pass marked with prayer flags to reach Ghora Tabela which is now a Nepal Army and National Park Post. The trail now ascends gradually as the valley opens up into a classic U shaped glacial valley. We follow the trail across the helipad and yak pastures and climb through rhododendron forests to reach Thangshyap. The route now climbs the hillside diagonally above the fields to reach Ghumba village that has a nice gompa to visit. The trail crosses a stream and climbs past several water driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang which is a headquarter for Langtang National Park. Huge twin waterfalls pour out of a cleft in the rock wall above town and there are views of 6581m Langtang II. In Langtang we hear and watch for varied species of birds such as hawks, drab coloured cuckoos, fruit eating barbets, owls, laughing thrushes, red billed and yellow billed magpies, parakeet and many more.

After I had already done the Poon Hill Trekking Tour with Overland Trek Nepal, I also booked an 8-day Langtang Tour with Anil. The trekking tour really excited me. I had a great guide with Pemba, who was extremely accommodating and helpful and supported me a lot in climbing Tserko Ri. The organization with arrival and overnight stays was excellent. The price for the tour was very fair. I highly recommend Overland Trek Nepal.

The manager made a very serious and competent impression from the first moment. I was a bit under time pressure but the agency made it possible for me to start within two days. The offer was also a lot cheaper than that of two other agencies I looked at. Everything went according to plan on the trek and it was a very nice time. My guide Pemba told me a lot about nature and culture in Nepal. Besides, he was always in a good mood and helpful. The only downside was that time was over too quickly.

I arrive at night and also depart at night, Nick keeps in touch to make sure I'm safe. It's my first time traveling alone to do multi-day hike in a very foreign place and I have a lot of questions but Nick is very responsive to answer all my concerns prior to my trip. In addition, I have made enquiries to several agencies and Overland Trek Nepal is one of the few who would take on solo hikers like me. Saroz is my guide from the start when we take the public bus from Kathmandu till when we get back to Kathmandu. He always try to get the best accommodation for me, make sure I eat/drink enough & sleep well + climatize gradually to avoid altitude sickness. He enthusiastically show me all the best views along the way and share with me the local history and culture. We do not have a porter - Saroz is very attentive to my body condition & physical abilities and would adjust my schedule daily accordingly. I recommend anyone to get in touch with Overland Trek Nepal to discuss if you have a trip in mind yet still have concerns. They can help you to achieve that goal :)

I'm from Florida, and this is my first trip to Nepal. I went trekking with Mr. Nick (Gautam) as my guide. It was a fantastic trip with him, and he had organized a fantastic trip that made me feel safe and comfortable. On the way to my trek, I met many tourists and guides, but during our conversations, I had the impression that my trekking guide, the trekking company that provided the service and was all jealous of the service. It makes me happy as well, and I feel like a very lucky girl. I'd like to thank Mr. Nick and his team, and I'm sure I'll be back with my family soon.
