Langtang Valley Trek is the nearest trekking route from Kathmandu. Thus, a large number of trekkers head to explore this region. The Tibetan and Tamang culture with the backdrop of Langtang range make up exciting trekking trails. The flora and fauna in the Langtang National Park are quite surreal as well. All in all, the trek is a glorious trip into Langtang Valley– the Valley of Glaciers.
The 10-day trip starts at Kathmandu from where you drive to Syabrubesi. Then you enter the Langtang National Park and head to Lama Hotel. The trek heads north and reaches Ghodatabela means the horse stable. Then, you follow the trail to Langtang village and settle at Kyanjin Gompa.
The Langtang Valley Trek can be done by anyone from any age group. So, prior trekking experience is not needed but you need to be in a fit condition. You can make a detour to Gosainkunda Lake or Helambu Valley if you have the interest to explore more of this region.

I had an unforgettable time on the Langtang Valley and Helambu trek as led by our guide Badri, representing Himalayan Adventure Treks & Tours. We were on our trek for a total of 14 days, and spent an average of 6 hours a day on the trails. The views were spectacular, and Badri did everything in his power to ensure that we were comfortable, safe, and well-informed at all times. His keen eye for local wildlife and knowledge of the area gave us not only invaluable experiences, but also a comprehensive education on the ecology, cultures, and pressing issues in the places we passed by. When we first arrived at the Kathmandu airport, the company had a driver waiting for us who greeted us warmly and took us straight to our hotel. Here, we met Bhagwat, the company president, who sat down with us and discussed a number of aspects related to our upcoming trek. He was courteous, friendly, and flexible regarding our needs, constraints, and wishes. Following the trek, Bhagwat hosted us at a dinner featuring a dance show and excellent food. This was my third time in Nepal, and first time with this company. I am impressed by their professionalism and accountability, and as such, fully intend on signing up with Himalayan Adventure again next time I visit!

This 12 day Langtang Valley and Helambu trek was great! The company provided good personal service for me and my son who were the only clients on this trek in February 2026. Our guide Badri was patient (I'm 73 and slow but steady on the uphill climbs) and well organized. He paid attention to our progress and would suggest breaks to allow us to catch our breath and have a tea stop. He phoned tea houses before we arrived to make reservations for the night and once changed our tea house when he found out that a large group had preceded us and taken the planned tea house. As he has much trekking experience, we watched how other guides would approach him for advice. Without his sharp eyes, we would have missed seeing musk deer and some monkeys. His interesting stories about other treks he has done, local histories and local ecology are entertaining. Our porter Siva came from the Langtang area and knew the route very well. The daily walking distances and elevation changes are quite manageable but tiring. We did the combined Langtang Valley and Helambu trek and most days involved about 6 hours of walking, except for one long day which was 10 hours. Maximum elevation gain in one day was about 1 km. I would go again in February as there are fewer trekkers, clear skies, stunning views and cool temperatures. The company president, Bhagwat, met us in the hotel, is easy to work with and responds almost instantly to WhatsApp messages even with the time difference between Canada and Nepal. He is clear about what is and is not covered in the fee for the trek so there are no surprises. He even hosted us to a fun dinner with a dancing yak at the end of the trek. This is the second year in a row that I have used this company and am planning a third.

Langtang tour was a great choise, because it is much less touristic than Everest base camp, so you can really enjoy nature and culture in full! Our guide Sunil was very helpful and told us a lot about local culture. This tour was full of amazing experiences!

I found the langtang valley trek is most ethical and cultural trek for Tamang society.last week we did this trekking with the Himalayan adventure and guide Surya. i choose this trekking because i want to see how there were effected by earthquake. The view was amazing. It was so sad that, it was completely destroyed in massive earthquake. But now they almost rebuild the trail and tea houses. i hope in near future they will fully recovered.
