Le Marais is my favorite arrondissement, and the guide, James, is wonderful. He is knowledgeable, speaks English and French, and he is also a photographer. I've experienced his expertise twice and would highly recommend a tour and photos with him.

A friend put me in touch with James at Paris Love Affair for a walking tour. These tours can live or die by virtue of who your guide is. So to be able to have a brief video chat with James was key in satisfying this risk. We got on instantly. :) Immediately we knew we were going to have a great tour as James was knowledgeable, unscripted, threw in anecdotes beyond the norm because he and his young family live in Paris and he clearly knows it very well. More than that it was obvious he loves this city and he did the city and this tour proud. We enjoyed the tour very much and even bought one of James's own photographic prints of Paris to remind of us this lovely memory. I have already recommended James to two friends visiting in the spring of 25.

Marais is a lovely region to explore. James, our guide made it interesting and fun. He's a great storyteller. I enjoy learning about the hidden gems, the background of some lesser known buildings and even some historical information about local cafe. This was my 2nd tour with him. We did a private tour. As a photographer he sees the world with a wondrous perspective. I highly recommend him and I enjoy his weekly newsletters about Paris. I truly fall in love with Paris more when strolling the streets with James. Even his photography tips are helpful.
